I am more of a B- Just because we took care of Philly.

As this team ages, so do their shitty bats during post season.

Sick of being a regular season team

This team actually sucks despite their regular season record.

Just went back and looked it up. Since June 7, including the playoffs, the Braves were 53-52. I would replace "suck" with "really average," but yes the fast start definitely covered up a lot of warts.

was looking at this one, which has us ninth,

You have the settings wrong on spotrac, you were looking at payroll for next year. Which is much lower because guys like Iggy and Kim aren't on there.

If you switch that spotrac search to this year (2026) you'll see we were 6th in baseball in payroll at 263 mil. The Blue Jays were fifth with 276.

So no, we spend just fine on payroll, particularly once MLB winds up with a salary cap after the inevitable work stoppage. The problem is AA has done a shite job of allocating that money overall.

With the ninth-highest payroll, I don't expect us to be in the NLCS or World Series every year like some people around here seem to think.

It took them 5 years to win a playoff series and they didn’t make it to the NLCS…..in their prime window

I just don't see it. IMO this was the series the dodgers really stood a chance at being knocked out. Their bats were frankly not good. Their pitching is going to give them a shot every night, I have to think that the bats will improve this next series.

Let's be honest though ....

These teams simply didn't and don't belong:

White Sox
Clev. Indians
Braves
Padres
Yankees

Simple enough. This postseason is really only about the Rays, Brewers and maybe the Dodgers.

I'm pulling for the Brewers, then the Rays to win it all.

yup. it was there for the taking we are just horrendous at clutch hitting especially with RISP. other than skubal all 3 starters were ripe for the picking but we failed numerous times to come through.

was hoping to wake up this morning and read headlines on ESPN that AA has been fired and relieved of his duties.

if ownership thinks beating philly is any reason to keep him they are dumber than we thought. the guy has completely failed since 2021.

AA is still under contract until 2031! ridiculous. I have to see how much he is paid. we need to pay him off and send him packing.

Yep, the rays and brewers especially really separated themselves this season. The dodgers weren't particularly good at times but they are so loaded they can basically not take the regular season serious at all, keep everyone fresh and still win 100 games.

TV would hate it, but would be a fantastic watch for baseball fans.
