The Braves are a publicly owned team, the only one in baseball meaning they have to produce quarterly reports and corporate shite.

They aren’t afraid to spend though, we are the 8th highest payroll.

We just spent a lot on bad contracts like Murphy, Riley, Strider, etc

The Braves batting averages sucked, no one close to .300 is not the way to win.

Listening to a live reaction to the game and someone just put it perfectly

The braves and ronnie is like you and your high school girlfriend going to different colleges and you need a blowjob from someone else. It's naturally time to part ways

So, what grade does this season get? I give it a C+. Winning the division is nice, but still another year where we didn't get out of the NLDS and really weren't all that competitive. Major changes are needed.

B-

Still enjoyed winning this division and flushing the Red October down the drain. The Riley homer is one of the best Brave moments years.

People complained about the lack of starting pitching and AA's mishandling of the trade deadline. We got what we needed from that group -- as decimated as it was.
The lineup has guys with postseason experience and they contribute two runs in two games and dropped pop-ups, etc.

I give Walt Weiss an A and think he should be in the Manager of the Year conversation. Won 95 games with a mash unit pitching staff. 20 million dollar left fielder got busted for steroids. 20 million dollar shorstop forgot how to hit.

Overall I give the season a B. Won the division. Finally beat the Phillies in the playoffs.

With the ninth-highest payroll, I don't expect us to be in the NLCS or World Series every year like some people around here seem to think.

B- for the regular season.
D- for the playoffs.

This team actually sucks despite their regular season record. Idk how they address the overwhelming issues in the offseason. Starting pitching and getting production out of their highest paid players is where they can start. Beating Philly was nice, but very underwhelming in terms of post season expectations. Just a very disappointing playoff as a whole. Never felt like a threat even when then competition left them plenty of room to advance. Acuna needs to figure out his shite.

I was looking at this one, which has us ninth, and there's 30 million dollars between 8 and 9...

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/payroll

There's basically the Dodgers, and then a cluster of 7 teams between 248 million to 286 million. We're not one of them. We're closer to having the #14 payroll than we are the #8 payroll.

We haven't been to the NLCS since 2021. That's unthinkable with the guys on long term deals.

right

and the dodgers did not make it each year either but they have had a great run the last 10-12 years

making multiple world series and winning 3 counting COVID.

"Well he's not 100%..." frick that. Most guys aren't by October. And if he's THAT hurt then he shouldn't be playing.
Plus this ain't a new thing for him and he doesn't have the cache of winning us a title like Riley and Ozzie do.
