Imo the real prize is Miami. National brand and they can get competitive in football pretty quickly if they made the investment to do so. Adds a different market which Florida state and Clemson do not. I think that’s the play. Miami and then a Virginia Texh maybe.

Once the ACC dissolves we’ll be down to the Power 2 that everyone seems to want.
It will be:
Big 10/SEC
Big 12
Everything Else

The Big12 is a glorified G5 conference at this point.

know Florida generally dislikes Fla State, and I could see FSU being a threat in LSU's eastern recruiting base. So I could see LSU and Fla uniting in opposition to the 'Noles.
FSU can eat a BOD as far as I’m concerned. Me no likely the Gators but I’m with them on this one.

Be mindful of the company you invite in. Do we really want to make the bright minds of Charlottesville, Virginia conference equals? They're not the same as us.

I don’t…it’s awful for college football

ACC adds Tulane, Washington St, Oregon St

NC State, Florida State, and Virginia Tech in that order are who we should target. Ask them each until you get two yeses and move on.

I don't think everyone wants it, but it's where the TV money is.

Anyone wanting UNC and Virginia are morons. Their football atmospheres are a joke. Nc State and VTech are miles better
Posted on 2/17/24 at 8:18 am to RemouladeSawce
Yeah Georgia tech brings absolutely nothing to the table. FSU, Clemson and UNC are the only schools worth looking at.

The SEC and Big 10 won’t want enough schools for it to dissolve. They’ll backfill like the Big 12. Plus that TV deal FSU hates is actually gonna be a great life raft for the schools left behind. The PAC didn’t have that.

Why “stop”
Without Texas and OU, what does the Big 13 have?

I think the SEC is going to be proactive and pick up teams to prevent the B1G from getting a foothold in the south.
This puts GT, Clemson, FSU and Miami in play and prevents the B1G from entering any traditional SEC markets
UNC and UVA, while great academic institutions make much more sense to go to the B1G and would likely do so
The Big 12 will be the soft landing spot for some of the other programs and create the de facto 3rd tier league setting the stage for all 3 conferences to leave the NCAA
It’s going to end up like the NFC vs AFC with a third under league, the writing is on the wall

Completely agree with this…they are a sleeping giant, but Miami is likely B1G bound.
