The only man to ever be ranked above Lebron in terms of talent.

The list probably has too many NYC playground guys and high school recruits who didn't pan out and not enough Euros as well as Americans who have succeeded in the Euroleague. Guys like Josh Selby and Cliff Alexander would have been top 10 if they hadn't gotten a few minutes in the NBA, but their pro careers have not been impressive.

Good to see Llull there. Keith Langford is definitely a top 10 guy. Erazem Lorbek, Milos Vujanic, JR Holden. Scottie Wilbekin might be there in a few years.

His legend has gotten more mileage out his untimely death than James Dean's.

And btw, the list has Larry Brown but no Roger Brown.

List is dubious at best.

I was criticizing Selby and Alexander. They just aren't on the list because they got 50-100 minutes in the NBA, but they are bad players past the high school/AAU game. They are complete flops. But if they didn't make it to Kansas, they would be considered superior players. It's better to be untested and unknown than to flop on a competitive level and be exposed.

Lenny Cooke and the NYC playground guys don't even have that. They didn't play college and they played bullshite semi pro leagues like the USBL so their competition levels are meaningless beyond what they did at 17.

Apparently Langford played 2 games for 10 total minutes for the Spurs. My mind is blown that anyone would actually know that. But he is one of the greatest Americans to ever play in Europe.

Yep Leon Powe

There is an article in slam where Powe was in the 8th going to 9th grade and was ranked as the best in the country. They played the Oakland soldiers that had a then unknown LeBron James and he called his coach and said he thinks he's in trouble for the top spot

I only recognize about seven of the names on the list and it's definitely interesting to think about. I've wondered how good Hank Gathers would have been in the NBA, probably an All-Star but hard to say because of the offensive system they ran at LMU.

I was pretty young when Len Bias died but he was in the perfect situation to achieve greatness. That 30 for 30 when his mom instantly knew that he died (telepathy) was eerie.

I've also wondered how good Arvidas Sabonis would have been if he played in the NBA before his knees got old.

Yeah I bought it. I couldn't watch it again.

It's sad and pisses you off at the same time. Guy had the world in the palm of his hand and pissed it away.
