If ZJ called for the layup I don't have an issue with that. Trying a different strategy is fine by me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But then Spieth blows the shite into the water and doesn't execute, that's on the player.

They have a team captain who chose not to play into any of the motivational tactics at all. ZJ is a lazy arse captain. I would have leaned into the last team to win over there and used that as motivation. Zach chose to do absolutely nothing and just let these guys go play.

With them already green side bunker and fringe I think you have to take the chance of hitting it on the green and making an eagle. I don’t think it was the right call

Maybe there was some foresight, but in hindsight this course is about driving the ball long and straight. That probably means Bryson and Cam Young should have been on the team if we were actually going for course fit.

This course showed driver isn’t really of much importance as everyone can reach the 5s and short pat 4s. Staying the fairway matters most
