He was one player on a decent team. Alot like 10 Auburn without that one player (Cam), they are an 8-5 football team.

He listed 05 USC not 04. 04 USC played a Jason white led OU team who were garbage that year and shouldnt even be in that game.

Garbage...oh, okay, gotcha.

That Oklahoma team was being hyped as the greatest team of all time before the game if memory serves correctly.
Personally, I think the Auburn team from that year was better (shocker?), but to say that Oklahoma team was garbage is comical.
And Jason White wasn't a horrific player, I feel like he was brought up as a slight against the team? He was a college baller and brought senior leadership to that team.

I thought that was just the 03 Sooners till they ran into K State.

Agree completely.
Auburn got hosed, but I can't call it the biggest hose job, because there were 3 undefeated teams from 3 of the 4 biggest conferences. It was a no win situation for the BCS that year

Right...that's the point, isn't it? Take away VY and the Horns aren't as good. Take away Jason White and OU isn't that good...Crouch and Nebraska, etc.
This is a stupid argument. So because they built their offense around 1 player, they weren't that good. Tell that to Jamaal Charles...

Jason White won the Maxwell/Johnny Unitas/Davey O'Brien award.
Adrian Peterson finished second in the Heisman as a freshman (Jason White finished 3rd) and was the first Oklahoma freshman recognized as a First-Team Associated Press All-American.
Jammal Brown won the Outland Trophy.

Vince Young was 3rd in Heisman, won the O'Brien, Maxwell, and Manning Awards, and was 1st team All-American.
Michael Huff won the Thorpe Award and was first team All-American.
Jonathon Scott and Rodrique Wright were 1st team All-Americans as well.

Nobody was beating Miami in ANY game that season.
FIFY, and like mentioned, if not a for stout UDub Tiuassosopo-led win year prior in Seattle, and BS OSU Fiesta gm call..three-peat..were unreal.

Oregon, a trendy preseason pick out west but not that of as a legitimate candidate when pitted against the might of the SEC or ACC

Boston College 18-7 (Miami led 12-7 and Boston College moved to the Miami 9 in the final minute before Ed Reed picked off a pass and returned it for a final TD.)

I really am amazed less people talk about how badly Oregon got screwed in 2001. Would Miami have won? Probably. But who knows? The point is, UO deserved the shot.
This just got swept entirely under the rug. Because who cares about Oregon?

Miami would have blown Oregon out of Pasadena just like they did Nebraska.
I disagree with that but it really doesn't matter at this point.

Didn't Udub beat Miami and finish with 1 loss?

Miami 2000 played 3 teams that finished the year in the top 6. FSU and Virgina Tech were quality wins.
Florida State blew out then No.4 Florida the last game of the year and won big against highly ranked Clemson late in the season too. Alos beat good GT team.
In hindsight, it would have been fun to see Miami vs. OU but all three had a decent case.
Oregon in 2001 I think was much more deserving than Nebraska.

Definitely! If that situation were to come again for Oregon I don't believe they get screwed again. Nebraska has name power and Oregon didn't yet but that isn't the case anymore.

While I agree, in 2001 it was much more automated than now. The polls had Nebraska at No. 4 and Oregon at No. 2. The computer score and strength of schedule killed Oregon.
I'd be curious if you converted the final 2001 standings to the current formula if it would have been different. You'd have to look up the total votes in both polls and change the math on the way the computers are scored. I gotta get back to work but maybe this afternoon I'll give it a shot.
This is the final BCS standings from 2001.
