Wouldn’t be surprised to see him atop the leaderboard for a bit….but seems to always have a couple of blow up holes that keep him
from truly contending

I’m trying to decide between waking up early and going to sleep late. Probably gonna try and wake up around 3-4ish and catch up thru the recording

He had a legit shot to win the Masters two years in a row including finishing second in his debut

Don't do it to yourself. it isn't worth the pain.

So he plays well at Augusta.
That doesn't change the fact that he’s MC in 4/7 majors. Maybe he will play well in Ireland, but I’d bet on a couple of blow up holes

Curious how Gotterup does after winning Scottish Open last week. He drives great, which might help on this course

He stayed out of the bunkers last week. If he can do that again he will be back in business.

R&A CEO Mark Dabron, ducking and diving questions this morning about Turnberry and Muirfield. Which have not hosted the Open since 2009 and 2013 respectively. Giving bullshite answers about road and rail at Turnberry and Driving range at Muirfield. The previous CEO said no more Opens cause Trump, owns Turnberry and Muirfiled won’t allow women members. Shame cause some of,the most memorable Opens were played there.

Turnberry is literally like 10 miles from Troon. Muirfield is like 20 minutes from the largest city in scotland and they could use range at the course next door.
Portrush is also pretty far from any significant population center and is hosting.
I think logistics could be handled. It is political.

Turnberry, yes. Muirfield doesn’t really have the infrastructure to host 200k+ people at the course. Portrush is a small town, but the golf course itself is expansive and can house the required infrastructure needed for championship golf.
PGA Tour is going back to Doral next year, maybe Turnberry is on its way back

Thank god because that mexico event that replaced Doral is terrible. The players loved Doral

I didn’t even realize that LIV isn’t going back to Doral next year. They had gone there 4 years in a row

Good to see a club like Oakmont not accept that garbage
Says a lot about him that he didn't even pay for the damages

I’m sure this will all be settled, but won’t he be exempt for the 2033 US Open at Oakmont?

Yeah i could get past bashing a couple of lockers pretty easily, not paying for it is a bad look
