Don’t confuse general sports fans that like Tiger with golf fans. Those people are the ones that drive ratings when he’s in contention.

Which is why golf needs someone like Tiger that brings some excitement to the table...I'm not saying Tiger is the only golfer that drives up ratings.....but Brooks sure isnt moving the needle....if anything he's moving it down

Again, just silly. You and other guys who slobber on Eldrick's knob every chance you get, are right here too.

As for ratings and prices, both of those would be FAR different if we weren't seeing such awesome golf from Koepka... And hardly anyone else... If it were a tight leaderboard, numbers would reflect that. But I guess that is Koepka's fault too.

That’s a problem for the networks, not real golf fans. No one denies Woods moves the needle on ratings. The sport will survive just fine.

On Woods, the irony of a lot of this is that I believe his greatness lay in his ability to grind, rather than the fist pumping stuff. I’ve heard it said, Tiger fans roar when he makes a birdie. Golf fans marvel when he saves a par.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. That’s exactly what people mean about you fanboys. I actually complimented the guy but if it’s not exactly what you want to hear, you cry like a pussy.

How delusional must you be to think the ratings don't fall almost squarely at the feet of Tiger?

So posting on TD is a prerequisite for being a fan? I read the threads. If I have something to say, I’ll post.

The only reason Eldrick was brought into this is because that's what a majority of you Fanboys have been commenting on in this thread.
The TV is better watching when Woods is not in the action, because true golf fans want to see a variety of golfers. Instead we get to see Woods tap in a 2ft bogey three times or act like a drama queen with another 'injury' instead of seeing Patrick Cantlay smoke a 3 wood.

Jesus Christ get the frick over yourself.

This to the nth degree. Take practically any criticism of BK,(boring, too dominant, aloof) and it is EXACTLY what was said about Eldrick WAY back when he was dominant.... Except these Fanboys used them as compliments.

Passion. How about that one?

You sounds as pathetically stupid as these other 2 idiots. Do you honestly think that he could get to this level without being passionate about the game? Really???

That just borders on lunacy.

And to not even have the intellectual honesty to say he's a hater. Instead, he tries to say it's fan boys that upset him, not Tiger.

It's hogwash. If you can't appreciate everything Tiger and his "non golf fans" brought to golf over the last 2 decades, you're certainly no "real golf fan" either. The criticisms aren't even real. You'll see every great shot on the course on a Sunday, but people act like Tiger coverage is inhibiting some made up greatness going on elsewhere.

Yeah....he sounds extremely passionate.

Kinda hard to get excited watching a guy that doesnt even like playing the game

quote:

For most golfers, a round like Koepka had Thursday would be exhilirating, but as the reigning Player of the Year has made clear time and time again, golf doesn't interest him all that much, and sometimes, even bores him.

Speaking with Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take podcast ahead of the PGA Championship, Koepka said he wished rounds were shorter, as he often gets bored in the middle of a round.

More passsion

quote:

"You're out there for five and a half hours, I mean how bad is that?" Koepka said. "Nobody wants to spend five and a half hours out there."

When asked how he would speed up the round, Koepka offered a simple explanation.

"Literally I would just make it like 14 or 15 holes," Koepka said. "Because then you get to go to the 19th hole a little bit quicker."

So passionate
quote:

It's not the first time Koepka has been rather dismissive of the sport that has seen him win three of the past seven majors.

quote:

"Golf is kind of boring, not much action. I come from a baseball family, and it's in my blood," Koepka said. "If I could do it over again, I'd play baseball—100 percent, no doubt."

quote:

Koepka seems to view golf as more of a job than a passion.

Lol. I've never denied that I dislike Woods, the man.

he tries to say it's fan boys that upset him

Not only did I not say this, I'm not upset. I'm just giving my viewpoint about what I'm watching, you're the one who's seems unhinged.

but people act like Tiger coverage

If you can't at least admit that "Tiger coverage" is over the top then let's have a discussion about intellectual honesty.
