You sounds as pathetically stupid as these other 2 idiots. Do you honestly think that he could get to this level without being passionate about the game? Really???

That just borders on lunacy.

Playing with passion. Didn't think that was too difficeto understand, but I guess I overestimated you.

Brooks Koepka putted out to win the 2018 PGA while Adam Scott still had a putt. The announcers were begging him not to do it. That's Koepka in a nutshell. He's an outstanding golfer, but there are plenty of those on any given weekend. Playing with some flair, passion, and emotion is what separates most of the greats in the eyes of fans.

Koepka beings great golf to the game, but nothing else.

ETA - it's not like Tiger is the only guy on tour with emotional play. The tour is full of them. Brooks is in the minority.

Yes, we see every shot Tiger hits. My point is we see all the great shots too. People act like they're missing something and that's simply false.

It doesn't upset me that he's ho hum about golf. Hell, I wish he'd embrace a flippant attitude about it. A frick it attitude would be more entertaining.

Was Nicklaus really that emotional though? Yeah I’ve seen #16 at Augusta in 86, but overall? Seems like that’s why people didn’t like him at first, especially considering he was beating a popular player in Arnie.

And Hogan was a stone cold killer.

I think that in time the talent can’t be denied by the fans and they warm to these guys.

People are overplaying the “Koepka is bored with golf” mantra. I see this quotes, but that’s part of his persona he’s putting out there. You know why he may be a little “bored” with golf? It’s because he’s hit 3 million golf shots from the driving range on his life. On Friday, he shoots 65 and heads straight to the driving range to fine tune his swing. You don’t get to where he is in the world of golf without having “passion” for what he is doing. Sure, it’s a grind, and he may not enjoy all of that right now. But he wants to be great, so he’s going to put in the work.

As for ratings, of course it’s bigger when Tiger is near the lead. But the very low rating this week is because Koepka choked the life out of this tournament by mid round on Friday.

Raise your hand if you are going to watch game 4 of Warriors/Trailblazers. Now raise your hand if you would watch a Game 7 of the Warriors/Trailblazers. That’s the nature of sports viewing. More people will watch the non-blowout.

People just loved Arnie. Jack's style and emotion, coupled with his skill, ultimately won them over too. He wasn't robotic by any means.

I’m watching. Wouldn’t necessarily call myself a purist. But a blowout is going to cause any casual fan to lose interest. I’m not nearly as excited because the intrigue of who is going to win has been gone for a day and a half now.

But if it wasn’t raining today I’d likely be out playing golf myself knowing that I don’t have to be glued to the tv to find out the outcome.

1. If JUST purists tuned in, I doubt we have a single telecast, ever.

2. If Woods is near the lead, he's probably playing great golf... So both would be tuning in, golf fans AND TW fans.

You don't seem very bright.

Again, not what I said. You may not understand this, but they have a limited amount of broadcast time. And when they show every single one of Woods' shots, and many of them repeatedly, including short MISSED putts, then they are not going to have time to show great shots by other players. I don't follow why you can't understand that.

But they always go back and show the great shots by other players.

It may not be in real time, but if it’s a good enough shot they will show the replay.

Did you just start watching golf 3 weeks ago?

Pretty sure the networks know what keeps folks from changing the channel. They wouldn't keep showing Tiger if the majority of viewers didn't want to see him

Yeah. Likely bogey.

If the win really starts whipping, it's going to be interesting to see what some of these bombers, who hit these tremendously high shots, are going to do to change strategy.
