On a scale of 1-10, how much weight does this A&M to the SEC rumor hold?

I would say a 7 right now. This is just my personal opinion I don't have inside info. I do believe A&M will be in the SEC one day when UT decides to go independent or A&M gets sick of them and leaves on their own

I think TAMU, OU, OSU, and MU from the Big 12 -2 will find their way to the SEC. Texass will go independent, the rest of that sad conference will join the MWC or Conference USA.

If you ask an Aggie fan or alum it would probably be up around 8 or 9.

In reality A&M will do nothing until Texas makes a move so I would say about 2 or 3.

That would be unfortunate if Bama, Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida came to Tiger Stadium every 16 years.

I'd hate to lose these games.

If this happened, then might as well not play cross-division games or change the schedule for more conference games.

16 team super-conference doesn't favor anyone in football or baseball scheduling.

Texas made its move when it inked the UTESPN deal. That was the final straw.

It's a 9.5 right now, and until I can see an email from the one source I really want to talk to, I won't put it at a 10. With that said, I have some other really solid power brokers agreeing on EVERYTHING going on right now, which is odd.

with all due respect, people said the same thing about Jerry Rice becoming LSU's WR coach a few years back.

I kinda wanna believe Gravy on this though. He's come about as close to naming his sources as he could without actually saying who they are... and he claims to have multiple.

are you still arguing A&m can do this without the approval from the Leg?

it's not what you say, but the confidence conveyed when saying it.

Where are you getting that from my posts?

As we spoke about last week on here, the decisions made regarding realignment in 2011 have a different set of circumstances than 2010, and the Leg has a much smaller role in it this year.

With that said, as I stated last week, A&M has conquered some of the hurdles in regards to admissions and standards without lowering them. The Leg really doesn't have any say so in that regard since nothing has changed fundamentally.

I perused over the 100 or so pages that has to do with A&M's budget presentation this spring. We have our ducks in a row so to speak. It looks good.

it is STILL a state university and cannot move without the Leg's approval or them "allowing " it

i know. He seems as confident as all the jackasses on the Rants and coaching changes boards.

I just find it interesting that the only information that is so confident is coming from an Aggie despite all of the SEC folks here who should be just as aware of a new team coming into the conference.

Until Aggie shows to have a set I am going to side with what they have done in the past.... Stick with the Horns as UT continues to distance itself from its chief rivals(A&M, OU, etc).

Hope I am wrong though as I would love A&M to be part of the SEC West. Enjoyed my visit to your stadium and have many friends that are Aggies.

How do you figure a team with 3 Big XII titles and 4 BCS bowl appearances is distance it self from a team with 7 Big XII titles and 8 BCS bowls?

Hell A&M has beaten them 3 of the last 5 years

even is everything he says is true

it still cannot happen without the Leg's allowing it.

hes never answered my question why UT would allow the SEC in their backyard without putting up a fight

Its like having a hot date with a pretty girl, a wallet full of cash and condom but your parents wont let you leave the house.

it might be the perfect set up but that doesn't mean youre going to get permission
