I'm done.. let me know when ULM has a winning season in football and them maybe we will talk. 14 years in D-1 and they STILL haven't had a winning season. Maybe D-1 was too much for them and they should drop back to 1-AA??

ULM! ULM! ULM!

Actually, I didn't know they had changed their mascot to the Warhawks until a few months ago. Shows what I know.

That's right. And your beating is coming this weekend from ULM.

One can dream right?

I guess we will have to ULM the victory on the message board to bad they can't win many on the field!

I still can't get over a home game with Arkansas that's played in Little Rock! Now that is funny and just kind of sad.

A lot is being made of this. It's really not that big a deal. ULM made this arrangement when the NCAA was threatening to require attendence minimums. I could be wrong, but I don't think they are enforcing this. But ULM made the arrangement with Arkansas just to be safe. I believe they have met the minimum requirements anyway without the Ark. game. It's not like it is in Fayetteville, the Hogs true home stadium. Little Rock is about midway from Monroe to Fayetteville. Monroe is actually closer to LR than Fayetteville is. It may be sad, but you gotta do what you gotta do. It's a good trip for the fans and good for recruiting as well.

Doesn't Arkansas play their home games against us in Little Rock every other year? Who is that a home game for if its not for Arkansas?

We play our home games in Baton Rouge!

But if Arkansas agrees to the terms - what is the big deal

I mean LSU makes more money than Tulane when they play in New Orleans. Should the Tulane people bitch about that? No. Because that is the contract that was signed.

Of course LSU does not honor contracts - but that is for another thread.

Nah there is a minimum that the NCAA will follow but really doesn't do too much unless a school habitually fails to meet the minimum. Idaho occasionally plays WSU in Pullman and UW in Seattle as a 'home game'. Arky State does the same occasionally vs. Arky in LR. As far as the NCAA is concerned, any team can have a home game anywhere. If Kent State wants to play UNC at Chapel Hill for a home game, for attendance purposes, it can, provided that UNC agrees. But UNC (or Arky or WSU) gets to keep the ticket sales, advertising and rarely TV fee if it is for someone random reason televised.

As for helping recruiting I don't see how.... Tell the kids "we can't put enough butts in the seats to keep the NCAA from penalizing us. Come to State U. so that you can play home games in another state!"?

All of these are good points...when Tech actually steps on the field and stops avoiding ULM. If not playing ULM is part of Tech "going in the right direction," then there's no reason why ULM should EVER outdraw Tech no matter what kind of home* game they have.

There are a couple instances of this being funny. Ole Miss played a few games against Arkansas in Memphis. Arkansas at Mississippi in Tennessee .

Ole Miss also played Tennessee a few times at "home" at the Liberty Bowl.

Tech should use LSU's attendance numbers and ULM should use Arkansas' attendance numbers and ULM will never outdraw Tech. How's that?

Roughneck, no scouting reports here, move along. Not that UT will need a lot of help to beat ULM.

That's fine. Let me know when LSU agrees to play an away game vs. Tech in Tiger Stadium.

ULM apparently knows how to get more fans in the stands than Tech does. Two of ULM's home games last year outdrew any of Tech's home games.

ULL is playing Southern this year, and it likely will outdraw any of Tech's games this year.

Looks like Dooley isn't all he's cracked up to be. If Tech is "going in the right direction," why aren't the fans going to the games?

If Dooley has Tech going "in the right direction," how come Tech only has five home games this season? Way to create buzz, DD!

If Dooley has Tech "going in the right direction," explain the fact that ULM will be getting more $ from its road games than Tech will.

ULM: @Texas, @Arizona State, @Kentucky
Tech: @LSU, @Auburn, @Navy

at Navy???
