If you don't like the subject, simply don't click on the thread. Throughout there has been information posted, including links, that contradicts claims by the techies. Hence they'd like to keep it buried.

For the past 3 years, our facilities, revenue, season ticket sales, and endowments have surpassed all-time highs. We can lose all this by having crappy seasons and losing the interest we've gained.
We're building a program the right way to compete with the likes of Boise, Utah, TCU. As long as we're in a non-AQ conference, the best we can hope for is to bust the BCS.
We do have a lot to lose, but a few more years of this kind of momentum is going to have everyone taking notice.

No. But we have more in the works that will be derailed if we lose too much financial backing.

How about season ticket sales, endowments, and facilities improvement? Not to mention all the press you get by being a winning program. While one cannot directly attribute increases in enrollments to athletic success, it doesn't hurt when people see Tech whooping arse on an SEC school on ESPN.

Since that is not the case, I'd like to see us use leverage on the Techs of the world, particulary where they are on the state dole.
You LSU fans are more elitist than anything Tech can be.
Some of you act like LSU never took state money and didn't turn a profit.

Seriously.
Know your place. Play ULM.

That is the same line of thinking the Iowa Senate used when it forced Iowa and Iowa St to play UNI every year. Although UNI was beating lower teir FCS schools, they have nothing to lose by losing to them. UNI also refuses to play Drake every year also, claiming same type of argument. The other 2 schools have a lot to lose. It is a no win situation for Tech as it is for Iowa and Iowa St.

That's just ridiculous. You know nothing about our school.

My personal opinion is that LSU should play no in-state schools, except for Tulane in BR only.
Since that is not the case, I'd like to see us use leverage on the Techs of the world, particulary where they are on the state dole.
Follow our example and play the other schools. Work it out among yourselves, but saying no is no option.
I agree.
And, by the way, a Techie calling LSU elitist when LSU has granted Tech the opportunity to play LSU more than once . . . games that give Tech more national exposure than anything accomplished in Ruston . . . amounts to nothing less than bad manners.
45 - 0 at halftime.

I do not understand why LSU plays any of the Louisiana schools, with the exception of Tulane honestly. Is it a state law?

Noblesse oblige . . .

Yet another ridiculous statement. I'd rather never play LSU ever again. We can do what we are trying to do anyway.
Just your language is elitist. You "granted" us the opportunity to get our arse beat. As for exposure,
How bout beating Bama twice in a row? How about MSU at home on national TV? How about beating Boise this year at home on national TV? Independence bowl in front of 40+?

It is not really a law, but the state makes LSU play at least 1 of the Louisiana directional schools each year. Originally they were supposed to all be on a 4 year rotation, but LSU has gone to the whole ULL, Tech, Tulane deals to help the athletic programs that leach off of state tax dollars to a tune of...
ULL 6M+ per year
LA Tech 4M+ per year

Seriously?
With all due respect to Tech, they are not a BCS school.

ULM has much bigger problems than trying to get Tech to play them. Their move to D-1A just hasn't worked for them. Any school in big time college football that has to use a home game against Arkansas in Little Rock to meet attendance requirements has major problems!
As a LSU grad I kind of feel sorry for them...

As being someone who got my Masters at UL, I do not think La. Tech has anything to gain by playing UL in Cajun Field. They are trying to build something right now that is a level above UL. Until UL can get its house in order, Tecfh does not need UL, but UL and ULM needs Tech for exposure in the state.

I would agree that both ULL and Tech have a lot more potential than ULM. The sad thing is that Louisiana has far too many 4 year schools and needs more JC's.

It's a fact. Just because ULM didn't outdraw Tech in a way that you like doesn't make it untrue.
This is factually correct and in the NCAA's official records: ULM outdrew Tech in football attendance in 2008.
It's a fact. ULM did not outdraw Tech at their OWN stadium. NCAA has gone soft since SMU...

This is very true. Total population of LA is about 5 million give or take. That is about the same size as the DFW metroplex. LA has way too many 4 year schools competing for state $$$.
