It's a fact. ULM did not outdraw Tech at their OWN stadium. NCAA has gone soft since SMU...

Fine. Then by your argument, we should count our Independence Bowl win of 41,000. In that case, we just outdrew Monroe by a couple thousand.
At least we got to keep the ticket money.
And before you say that it was an extra game, its too bad for ULM they didn't win to get it.
Even if that isn't good enough, we can get a 13th regular season game anyway just by being in the WAC and traveling to Hawaii.

No shite.
Neither should bullshite "Home" games in Arkansas, against Arkansas. And you shouldn't be able to count a home game if you don't even keep the ticket money.

Maybe ULM and ULL don't even know that most schools at the D-1A level get to play in bowl games when they have a winning season??? Maybe that's their problem.
How long has it been since we didn't get to a bowl?

If Tech is so bad arse, why can't they even outdraw ULM for its home games?

By your reasoning, no one should care, including you right?

Fact: More people attended ULM's home games than Tech's home games in 2008. The ULM home schedule was just more interesting I guess.

My questions to you though:
1. We are irrelevant, right?
2. If yes, why do you care at all?
Fact: Numbers don't always tell the full story. ULM barely topped our "official NCAA" attendance even though one of their games was bullshite, and even you can agree that it was bullshite.
I'm at peace with that because we all know the real story. Those numbers do not matter to Tech right now. It only proves the point that ULM needs Tech for attendance and not vice versa.

I'm glad that you have a blind hatred for my university. It makes you look really cool.

If ULM's home attendance is so much better then how come they are not doing any of the things that Tech and to a smaller degree ULL have done to improve their programs?
You can bash Tech all you want but they have an solid coach and are improving their program's stadium with a new jumbotron. ULL needs a new coach but they too have added things like an indoor practice facility.
ULM still plays in a dump and has an embrassingly low athletic budget.
I am not a huge fan of the other D-1A programs in the state other than LSU but you can't ignore the facts.

Malone stadium is not that bad. Would you call new field turf in 2007 an improvement? I would.

Don't know if I would have gone this far, but I know what you mean. Anyone who grew up in the Monroe area in the 80s should know why too.
This is what is funny about this topic to me. We can all agree Tech has had more success than ULM since moving to 1A. But all that means is one WAC championship and a few bowls. I'm not saying ULM wouldn't kill for that too, because they would. But what is funny is to hear the Tech fans talk now and you would think their success is an every year occurance. If Dooley was not there, where would they be? Where will they be in a few years when he moves on? He will definitely leave them in a MUCH better position than before he got there. I don't see it continuing. Like I said Tech fans, ULM would kill to be in your position right now, so you don't have to repeat it. Just enjoy the ride while you can because we all know, including you, that it won't last long. Ruston will always be Ruston. It's a nice little town, I have family there.

That's kind of my point what is ULM doing???
Even under their last coach they won the WAC and went to a bowl game. I think that ULL may have even went to a bowl game at some point too.
Tech also has J. Davison backing them so money is not a problem.

So by logic, tech should include their bowl game, which was actually played closer to its OWN campus/stadium than ULM's "home" game vs Arkansas.
96. La.-Monroe 6 117,116 19,519
105. Louisiana Tech 6 108,121 18,020
108,121 + 41,000 / 7 = 21,303 (and these are TECH fans, not Arkansas fans being counted toward a ULM home game)
This is 1,784. I'm not about to drop the arky game, that number is a little over 4 times bigger. and yes, tech was the home team for the indy bowl, and they do play regular season home games there too.
but, as you say, ULM outdrew tech

I think it is fair to say ULM outdrew Tech last year because the game in Little Rock, AR is legally considered a home game for ULM.
However, it is very misleading to imply that ULM has more fans than Tech. It is fair to say that ULM legally counted about 50,000 Arkansas Razorback fans as part of their home attendance numbers.

+1 Didn't you guys count the Moo State fans that were in attendance at Tech last year ?
