Perhaps Tulane will throw you guys into the mix (ULM in '08, McNeese in '09...??? in '10).

Tulane's 2009 out-of-conf. opponents: BYU, McNeese, Army and LSU.
Tulane fans would all agree that "BYU, LA Tech, Army and LSU" would be a lot better.

Possibly/probably. I'll say, however, that with LSU, Mississippi State, and a service academy on a home/home rotation for the OOC, Tech is really low down on the priority list.

Also, Tech and Tulane is not a historical rivalry, so there's not too much of a connection there. I can't imagine that they're scared of playing Tech home/home; they do it with State, LSU, and plenty of other schools that are bigger than Tech.

This is just another Techie who is being delusional about anyone being scared of them.

False. Tech won in 1904. Long ago, yes. But still. It was actually our first win as a program.

Tech vs. ULM does nothing but give a 1 game attendance boost. Their fans don't show. Monroe doesn't even care about ULM. Grambling outdrew them at home.

The series is 30-13. "Rivalry" means that both teams have a solid chance to win. This is why Tulane-LSU won't be around much longer.

I'd much rather play ULL. See you tiggers in November. Don't let us hang 30 on you like Troy did....

the Tech guy stayed with it long enough to get a compliment from a Tulane fan. Tech is better than McNeese. Even the NLU guys will agree with this, right?
That's more like it. Can't we all just get along?

Sorry, we're pretty booked from '10-'14 with Southern Miss, Houston and Army/Navy

it appears that '10 recruiting isn't meeting expectations (only 6 recruits w/ 2 two-star commits) - what do LA Tech fans think?

2 of the 6 were ranked as 3 stars. Until they committed to Tech ( ).

Regardless, it's August and I'm not worried because most of our better recruits last year committed near the end of the recruiting period.

I had relied on Stassen, but did double-check CFB Data Warehouse to find that LA Tech DID beat LSU in 1904...6-0.
In the 4 game season, LA Tech beat LSU once in two matchups (odd schedule).
In 1904, LA Tech went 1-3, splitting w/ LSU and losing to Miss. St. and Tulane.

This has been the most entertaining post on the whole site all day. I just wish I had not too been busy most of the day to stay more caught up on it.

I'm with ya on the eyeroll, trust me.

That game was played two years before the forward pass came around.

But hey, I'll take what we can get until we add on the second win in November.

Do you realize that no one attending ULM today was alive the last time ULM beat Tech? (It was 22 years ago)

where are you finding this home and home with Minnesota?

I find that ULM played Minnesota in 1999, in Minnesota, LINK 35-0 loss

and find that they played again in 2000 @ Minnesota, LINK a 47-10 loss. Unless they have it wrong, of which I need to see a web link to believe you. ULM did not have a home/home with Minnesota

Minn. Was in Monroe in 1995 or 1996. 1996 I think. First game of the season. ULM has beat three se c teams since then also.

It was 1996, but ULM has only beaten Alabama since then.

They beat Kentucky in 1994 and Miss State in 1995.
