He watched him every minute for 3 years while Watson was in college, wishing for a collapse that never came. and It traumatized him....4 years later and he can't let it go.

It would be incredibly stupid for the Bears to do this. Wentz isn't much more than Trubisky.

Rumor from bears reporters is if the trade happens, they expect it to be something like:

Bears 1st round pick (20)
Future 3rd round pick
Foles

Eagles send them Wentz.

Then the Bears will spend the rest of their draft picks on Tight ends.

Naw, they’d trade a 1st round pick to the Falcons for a tight end. The Falcons would then draft a punter.

Nah, they'd just draft another defensive end who doesn't care about football and only has one pass rush move.

Your statement is much more accurate.

Look I don’t follow the NFL that closely, but how is the difference between Nick Foles and Carson Wentz worth that when you factor in salary cap impact?

Schefty now saying he will be traded soon. I never thought they’d pull it off this season

Per ESPN

Philadelphia Eagles expected to trade QB Carson Wentz soon, sources say

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to trade Carson Wentz in the coming days in what would be the latest blockbuster quarterback deal to rock the NFL, league sources tell ESPN

Didn't shefty said 18 teams would have new QBs? That seemed ridiculous, but he may end up being right

Chicago GM and coach know they need a playoff run next year to save their jobs. 0% chance any qb on their current roster can do it. If they believe they can "fix" Wentz and it's the best chance at saving their job, then they'll take the chance.

Worst case scenario it doesn't work out, they get fired, and then then cap situation isn't their problem anymore.

Foles is trash. He had the game of his career in the Super Bowl against a suspect New England defense and somehow people believe that’s who he is while ignoring all the glaringly obvious evidence to the contrary.

Wentz isn’t up there with the Mahomes/Rodgers/Allen tier, and isn’t on the Lamar/Russell/Dak/Ryan/Stafford tier, but he’s in that third level tier with the Cousins/Carr/Tannehill where he can be productive and won’t inhibit your ability to win, just don’t ask him to be the centerpiece like the first tier or ask him to be the catalyst like tier 2 guys.

Completely random but Alabama went from having none of their former QBs as starters in the NFL in 2019 to possibly having 3 next season depending upon what happens with Mac.

Carson Wentz was sacked more than any qb in the league last year. Have you ever seen Deshaun Watson play football?
Wentz has been sacked 179 times in 68 career games. Watson has been sacked 174 times in 54 career games.

33 - 28 - 31 - 37 - 50 / Wentz
XX - 19 - 62 - 44 - 49 / Watson

Watson (9.1%) has also been sacked at a higher % of career pass attempts than Wentz (6.7%).

Not saying this will change your overall point, but you should change it to sacks per pass attempt, not per game.

ETA: read your second paragraph.

That second season is why they went out in got Tunsil. But one of the larger issues is Watson’s refusal to 1. Throw the ball away when there is nothing there and 2. His aversion to using his scrambling ability.

What a Chicago thing to do.

Pass on Mahomes and Watson for Mitchell.

Double down by trading for a physically and mentally broken Wentz.

TBF, Mahomes at 10 was seen as massive overpick at the time. He was projected to go outside of the 25 by pretty much everyone.

The Watson pick though, yeahnot good. Especially throwing in what they gave up to move up one slot. I’m curious who it was that was offering San Fran the bag to take their spot to get Mitch or if John Lynch just finessed the hell out of the Bears front office.
