And I know they had a good win against a top 15 team, but there is no way in hell Oklahoma State is a top 4 team in the country.

that offense with a top 40 D could make some noise

if OU's O keeps being shitty, i could see that being a win

I dropped OSU and LSU from my top 10, along with Oklahoma. I didn't have VT in there to begin with.

Thank you for voting, Keys Open Doors. Here is how you voted:

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Alabama
4. Southern Cal
5. Oklahoma State
6. Penn State
7. Ole Miss
8. California
9. BYU
10. Boise State

9. Notre Dame - I don't like this, but they shutout Nevada. I don't think anyone expected that. Clausen looked good.

if ND beats UM reasonably well next week, they should be in my top 10

LSU dominating the shite out of vandy or OSU beating USC (which would put OSU in the top 10) could de-rail this

but UM may lose, opening up a spot

we could expand to 15 for next week, if it makes sense...top 25 seemed like too much, but then again, I am not voting...

Chicken, I think you're doing a fantastic job, and I would like to thank you for not banning me in a long time.

Will the poll gradually move to include more teams over the season until we are at 25 for the bowl games, or will it continue in the 10-15 range?

I think 10-15 should be plenty for the next three or four weeks.

Boise isn't that good. They probably are somewhere between 13-15. Oregon looked like fricking shite and doesn't deserve to be near the top 15, and Boise only won by 11, even if it could have been much worse.

LSU wasn't 41 points better than Virginia Tech in 2007. But the game still got way out of hand.

Neutral field, it would be a dogfight. And at Boise, LSU would probably lose. So I'm not necessarily stating that LSU is a better team. I'm just responding to the poster who said Boise would destroy LSU.

yes we were

they had no offense and their D can only really stop Os that try to run it right at them

KW could have rushed for 250 against them if he got 20-25 carries

I think that would be the perfect number. Voting on teams 19-25 is so much speculation. The majority of voters probably didn't even watch the games involving those teams the week before.

about 11-13

USC, Cal, BYU, Texas, OU(with Bradford), Oklahoma State, Alabama, Florida, Penn State, Ole Miss(barely) have all looked better as of now. Miami and Notre Dame have impressed too. I don't think you can put that much stock into the Washington game. Obviously, some things need to be improved, but I don't think we will really be able to see how good LSU is until the game in Athens.

Playing in Tiger Stadium we were a lot better than them. But if we play them late in the season on a neutral field, it would have been within 10 or 14 points.

so we'd score like 13-17 points against a D that didn't have close to our athletes?

VT pads itself against 1-dimensional offenses. almost always in the ACC, this will be a running game. occasionally (BC) it will be a passing game. when was the last ACC offense to feature a passing and rushing threat? UM in like 2001?

Top 25 is definitely too much at this point. Very few teams have played well so far, so it's difficult to put rankings out so deep. Top 15 might be possible next week. For what it's worth, if there had been 25 this week, Texas A&M would have gotten my 25 vote. Nobody is playing well, and they actually had a nice performance. In no way am I saying they are a Top 25 team though.

Its hard to lay out a top ten and justify all your rankings doing a top 25 is a part time job....if done right.

Thank you for voting, SprintFun. Here is how you voted:

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. Southern Cal
4. BYU
5. Alabama
6. Oklahoma State
7. Ole Miss
8. Penn State
9. Boise State
10. California

Initially I had Cinci sneaking in at 10, but forgot about Cal so put them there. This is a power poll, based on week 1, not where I think people will be after week 2, or how they did in the preseason.

Thank you for voting, BearTiger. Here is how you voted:

1. Florida
No doubt at this point
2. Texas
3. Southern Cal
4. Alabama
5. California

I had them preseason 9. They looked really impressive
6. Oklahoma State
7. Penn State

Dominated a weak Akron team. The jury is still out on them, but they played better than a lot of teams.
8. Oklahoma
- I know I will get blasted for this, but i fill out 2 top 10's. 1 who I think are the 10 best teams and 1 who deserves to be the 10 best teams. I think Oklahoma is a top 10 team, and will bounce back. At this point in the season my "Think" poll matters for 15/16 of the vote and deserve poll only matters for 1/16. It changes after every week, and will work itself out.
9. LSU
10. Ole Miss
