At the end of the day it absolutely blows my mind that Anthony Richardson is going to make at a minimum, FIVE times more than Hendon Hooker to play football for the next four years.

Some serious value with Levis in the second when you consider the typical QB that goes there

I think Lions or Rams take him tomorrow

I feel sorry for Brock Purdy. As Mr. Irrelevant, he is making about a buck 95 an hour.

Rams seem like the best spot for Levis

I was wondering if one would try to deal up to 30 or 31. Washington is the prime suspect that should be all over this I think
If he goes to the Rams and McVay sticks around that’s a great scenario though

I mean, I guess. If you listen to the draft pundits. But can you honestly say, if you only watched college football games the last four years that Will Levis did anything to be considered an early 2nd round pick?
I'm not saying he wont kill it in the NFL, and we all agree its a QB centric league, but he has done nothing on the field to make me think he is a top 50 NFL pick.

Hookwr is like 26 years old.

Seeing reports on Arrowhead Pride that the Chiefs tried to trade up to the Cowboys spot to get Murphy out of Clemson and Dallas rejected the trade.

Actually he is 25. And Anthony Richardson is 20 years old. And has already thrown more interceptions than Hooker has. Who would you rather risk $37M over the next fours on?

Only because no one answered in Dallas after Jones threw the phone against the wall when they didn't get Kincaid.

2nd/3rd round QBs the last few years
Desmond Ridder Falcons Cincinnati
Malik Willis Titans Liberty
Matt Corral Panthers Mississippi
Jalen Hurts Eagles Oklahoma
Mason Rudolph Steelers Oklahoma State
DeShone Kizer Browns Notre Dame
Davis Webb Giants California
C.J. Beathard 49ers Iowa
Jacoby Brissett Patriots North Carolina State
Cody Kessler Browns USC
I'm playing devil's advocate a bit and I didn't think Levis was worth a top 5 pick at all, but there's a big value curve on NFL picks. When you compare Levis' physical tools and going 17-8 (I think) at Kentucky with a high completion percentage and perfectly acceptable overall numbers plus a talent disadvantage most weeks, I think he's very good value in the second for a QB needy team. Compare him and his track record those guys above - Hurts is obviously the big hit but I think he compares very favorably to them

That's fair. I can see him being a worth a late 2nd-early 3rd for the right team.

Yep, fair enough. I thought Stroud and Young were top 15 type Qbs while Levis/Richardson were more late 1st. Most interesting part to me is Richardson going 4 and Levis still available. I don't see much between them, in some ways I think Levis is better but I guess he kind of lost the musical chairs

Totally agree. I admittingly have a huge Hooker bias (the jokes just write themselves), but I don't believe any of them can approach the ability and presence it takes to go 58 TDs/5 INTS over the last two seasons against SEC defenses on what was a very average team when he took over.
I am also in the minority on the age thing as I don't understand people thinking him being 25 years old is a negative. Its a positive in my mind as he is more NFL ready than anyone and you have him for four years at a tremendous value to decide if you give him a big contract just as he hits his prime.

It just puts a hard cap on the upside I think. It’s not hard to see Hooker projecting to a fringe starter/good backup type, but you can’t really project growth on his age beyond that even if you’re being optimistic. I think Hooker could step into an NFL offense next year and be very capable, the question is what he can be beyond that.

This is where we disagree. While its not a certainty, I would argue he is a late bloomer who has improved every year. In fact, he has a 5 year college career track similar to that of Burrow with less WR talent around him. In no way am I saying he has the skill set or upside of Burrow, but Im not conceding he has a low ceiling as most seem to assume.
What this now ensures is that there is a QB that will be drafted on Saturday that will be a 12 year starter, win 4 rings, and make the HOF, and in a decade we will be ridiculed for wasting bandwidth comparing these guys against RANDOM GUY WE NEVER WATCHED TAKE A SNAP IN COLLEGE.

As a Clemson fan, I am happy for him but I dont see jt. In 3 years he barely played a full season.

What was Hendon Hooker doing at 20? Or hell, 23?

It is 100% a negative.
1. He was playing against guys 4-6 years younger than him last year.
2. When his first contract is up, he'll be pushing 30 already with one foot out the door for his career.

What? Did you see the offense he ran at Tenn? NFL ready? WTF.
