More trouble for sure. I'm sure the conference was thrilled about them accepting the Independence Bowl invite, and then not being able to field a team. That made the conference look bad. Fortunately, Tech was able to save the day and give Army a bowl opponent.

It’s called the Sun belt not the rust belt.
Seriously though Ohio wouldn’t be a bad addition. They’re already big rivals with Marshall. Dipping into the Midwest wouldn’t hurt. Plus it seems like their culture fits right in with the rest of the SBC.
I always tell people who rip on non southern FB states, football is huge in Ohio. Just as big as any where else. It’s a Mecca. They live and breathe it at every level

I wonder if this is b/c they see the SBC as having more of a chance to have games on Saturdays so their fans can actually show up to games?
