So if the only thing that matters is number of losses, why would anyone schedule a game they could lose?

It's going to come down to 2 loss Miami or 3 loss Bama for the last spot I think

Exactly. Every potential contender should never schedule a difficult out of conference game again

Bingo, we should get used to seeing Notre Dame year in and year out. It must be nice getting to play army, navy, and Virginia every year

It's a joke if an SMU, or a 2 Loss Miami gets a bid over 3 loss SEC Teams.
But then again, if you lose 3 freaking games do you really have any room to complain ?

You don't get credit for scheduling tough games if you lose. The goal is to actually win.

Yes if you play 7-8 tough games

ACC teams play 2-3 tough games

What’s stopping an Ole Miss or Alabama type team from joining the Big 12 or ACC where they know they’ll wreck shop and have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs every year?
This is a problem when you have too many elites in one conference, but don’t have many if any in other conferences.

Please, the SEC is not good this year.
Nobody in the SEC played 7 or 8 tough games.
SEC has looked like shite

You’d be melting even harder if osu played an sec schedule because they’d be left out lol

You get credit for scheduling tough games.
But you have to win some of them, and not get blown out while losing.
I don't think Ohio State is going to get punished for a 1 point loss on the road to the number 1 team in the nation.

Three loss Clemson finding a way in is an embarrassment.

I hate this format…I want the best teams and not this forced multi-conference design.

If they joined a shite conference they wouldn't be "Alabama" for long because their recruiting would drop off drastically.

If they had a third loss they absolutely would be punished.

Notre Dame smoked aTm in College Station.
aTm is one of the better teams in the SEC.
