This also gives Rog more reason to demand masks on the sideline, regardless if it makes a difference or not.

These guys are being tested daily, which is good, but testing is an lagging indicator.

As much money as the NFL has, they should sequester the teams for the rest of the season. Rent out an entire hotel in each city that they stay take over for the rest of the season, leaving only to go to team activities.

Why can’t the quarantine the dudes that test positive. Keep testing everyone until Saturday’s. Those that are negative get to play?

That would make too much sense and we gotta keep the simps thinking this league is run by meatheads.

It’s stupid. There’s no other way to put it.

There were two more positive tests in Tennessee -- one player, one personnel

Now the NFL has to figure out how to reschedule a game between two of its seven undefeated teams after the league's first COVID-19 outbreak.

The simplest scenario for rescheduling is Week 7 on Oct. 25. That's the Titans' bye week. Pittsburgh is scheduled to play at Baltimore that week, but both the Steelers and Ravens have byes in Week 8, which would allow the NFL to make a change affecting only one other team.

The challenge is turning this week into a bye for both Tennessee and Pittsburgh and comes after both teams started preparing to play as early as Monday. The Titans, who played in the AFC Championship Game in January, and the Steelers, revived with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger back, might be playing without a break through the rest of the regular season.

The season may be in jeopardy if that’s their precedent. Five fricking players test positive and you cancel a game? Jesus. What an awful precedent to set

Seriously. That's why teams have practice squad players. We don't cancel games if 3-4 guys get hurt. If there aren't more positive tests than 4-5 on the Titans, they have plenty of players they can bring up to play a game. MLB did this same bullshite. They expanded to 60 man COVID rosters but never used them and, instead, just cancelled/postponed games every time someone tested positive. What exactly is the point of having a backup plan in place if you don't even utilize the backup plan?

How many athletes have died again?

I mean its no different than what baseball did and they came out okay.

One thing about baseball is you can reschedule those games a lot easier. You can play double headers. You can play on off days. Football teams can't just play a game in the middle of the week to makeup a missed game and play again the following Sunday. Unless the Steelers and Titans share the same bye week, I'm not sure how you even reschedule the game.

To my knowledge worldwide, one (kind of). A basketball player overseas contracted pneumonia, then COVID, then myocarditis. He was instructed by doctors not to resume physical activity, did anyways, and had a heart attack and died. That's the only athlete worldwide I've seen died with any sort of relation to COVID. And honestly, I haven't heard of a single athlete in our country even be hospitalized or be seriously ill with COVID either. Every case I've heard about were asymptomatic or extremely mild symptoms.

Two is what pushed it over the edge?

The ease at which they can reschedule it was the reason.

Baltimore now gets a Bye in W7 instead of W8
Pitt vs Tennessee W7
Pitt vs Baltimore W8

If it wasn't for this, they game would be played on Tuesday.

It's not just the players. That's the problem. Titans had more "personnel" test positive than players. NFL teams have 100s of employees who do everything from clean the helmets to fix the projector in the film room. You can't isolate all of that in a bubble.

The NFL just reported that the guy who drove the bus the Titans took to the stadium has tested positive. Maybe HE was the one who spread it to the team. Are you going to quarantine some municipal charter bus driver who makes 24k a year? What about the Honduran cleaning crew who comes in at night to vacuum the lockerroom? Yeah, good luck with that. The next time you find a bus driver who gives a frick, be sure to let the rest of the world know because history has been made.
