To hell with qualifications just force teams to hire minorities. That is where this is headed. I wonder why they are so worried minority coaches but why not more whites on the field? Where are the white corner backs?

Weren’t there at least 3 black coaches in the nfl this year?
That’s about 10 percent or proper representation based on population break down.
I never understood what problem they are trying to solve.

Yeah. You do. You just can't say it without being labeled.

Interviewing isn’t necessarily the issue.
Getting pissy over a lack of minority hires in an offseason is a problem, especially if there weren’t good candidates to choose from.
The pool of candidates to choose from in general is fairly small these days, as they tend to be retread head coaches, currently employed coordinators, or the occasional college coach (Bill O’Brien, Matt Rhule, etc).
If Rooney wants to make a bigger push toward diversity in head coaching, he needs to push teams to hire minority position coaches and identify ones who have the potential to move up to coordinator jobs.
Someone who makes their bones as a coordinator tends to become a hot candidate for head coaching jobs.

Dumb. How many black coaches PERIOD? Why is it always about the top position with these people?
Same thing with women. They're only upset about the gender distribution of CEO and high paying professions, but not other places.
I seriously doubt any franchise is going to refuse a black HC hire because hes black.

Diversity = less white people

Wtf is this gay shite???
Also, if they are going to continue to push this Rooney rule bullshite, I want to see teams offer more tryouts to white cornerbacks and running backs because there aren’t enough of them in the league and I feel that is a huge injustice to the white people community in this country.
Rosa Parks didn’t give up her seat on the bus for this shite!!!! I won’t stand for it! #makewhiteCBsgreatagain

And that would probably increase the number of minority coaches, since the retreads tend to be white.

The black population of America is like 12% or 13%. That would predict 4 black coaches. There were three black coaches at the end of 2019 per the Washington Post. LINK
However, it varies a bit from year to year. I remember a stat a few years ago that 6 out of 32 coaches were black.

Guess there’s not a Rooney rule in place for the chairmanship of the NFL’s diversity workplace committee. Racists.

I hate this counter argument, it is either disingenuous or racist.
Black people are better athletes on average due to genetics. Are white people better coaches due to genetics?

Well you always hear the league is high percentage black but coaches are not as high, but the idea that it requires the same skill set to run a fade route as running a football program is laughable.

Wait are you saying the first statement is not racist but the second is?

OK,Art Rooney II, be careful what you mandate.
You sound as if you are a smidge away from mandating hires based on race.
If you do, what you are making is a
'never fire the white guys in your employ"
" better the coach you know than the unknown coach you've never worked with",
"take recommendation with extreme caution"- is the coach any good or is somebody just trying to get rid of him?

Why should an organization be required to interview someone based off race or gender.
You should be able to interview and hire whoever you want.
If I owned a team or business I’d want the best candidate for the job whether they were a woman or man, Asian, Hispanic, black,

If they want to make a difference then they should expand it to coordinator positions.. I don’t understand the hate for the rule as it’s simply providing opportunities to new potential hires and helps potentially curbing the nfl love of retread hires
