Helsinki was made the capital of Finland by Alexander I who wanted to reduce Swedish influence and make it closer to Saint Petersburg

Helsinki still resembles the neoclassical style of the Russian city built by Pyotr aka Peter the Great

I am excited but concerned. Nothing would be more St. Louis Blues than losing Games 6 and 7 after having a 3-2 lead in the finals.

I really need the Blues to win Sunday because my bosses are starting to get a little tired of the playoff beard

It was a terrible no-call. It was a clear trip, and the Blues got away with one. It was not a slew foot, as there was no upper body contact at all. It misses part two of qa slew foot, which is to trip someone low and pull their body back from up high. It requires two actions, which is why it is such an egregious act. It's an intentional act to injure.

It was a bad trip (though probably embellished), and the refs missed it. Almost as badly as Rask missed that puck, amiright? I mean, geez... it's not like a set up a good shot. That was a save Rask makes 99 out of a 100 times, and he let in a soft goal.

Yeah, it was a bad call, and the Bruins getting pissy about a dirty hit is the height of comedy, but the goal was due to Rask momentarily forgetting how to play goalie.

Actual billboard I drove past today on I-93:

"Let's go Bruins! There are four month olds in Boston that haven't seen a title yet!"

.....yeah, I get why people hate Boston.

Blues have been on the wrong side of so many of those calls/non calls. It’s finally nice to be on the other side of it this time.

The arena has been like that for every road game this series. So much for the tiresome “St. Louis is just a baseball city” bullshite I have heard way too many times.

It was when the team had a competent owner and front office.

So many missed calls on Boston, that they have ZERO reasons to gripe.

Offside on Bruins goal in game 1, and it was so offside that even the tv crew called it. nothing

Game 1 and Game 2 Chara chopped a Blues players stick while killing PP, breaking it into 2 pieces, so instead of another PP and 5 on 3's, the blues guy had to go to the bench, get another twig, and 20+ seconds loss, on other play, they lost puck as it was 4 on 4, with him at the bench. Chara did this in the middle of the ice as everyone was watching.

Cheap shots by krug, cheap shite from marchand on binnington, and many other bullshite no calls. East Coast fans are always the same, loud mouths, who think their shite doesn't stink, but not as smart as they think they are. AOC is a perfect example of the East Coast attitude, BU education, dumb as a box of rocks.

I mean, we got a really generous call last night. But again, the call against us during the San Jose game was far more egregious and potentially costly. We came back.

Boston now has the opportunity to do the same and if not they have no one to blame but themselves.

Looks like Barbashev is going to get suspended.

Boston fans and media have been trash since they vilified Buckner. They only “forgave” him when they finally stopped sucking and won something. And here’s another reason to dislike Boston scum.

quote:

WBZ-FM radio host Fred Toucher hung up on News & Observer sports writer Chip Alexander during an interview about Hurricanes hockey. "I just can’t listen to a guy with a Southern accent talk about hockey," Toucher said on air.

Bruins and their fans need to STFU on the no call. They scored their first goal in game 1 with 6 attackers on ice.
