You just seem really salty. Sorry for your team taking 49 shots and about 42 of them being terrible with little to no traffic in front of the net and from terrible angles.
Take your loss and quit crying.
Caps fans have got to be getting near the top for the whiniest fan base good lord. Last 2 pages are damn near insufferable.
Crying about refs over and over - check
Crying about being cursed - check
Salty as frick after a loss - check
Every excuse in the book - check

Exactly.
If the Caps can't beat a Letangless team Wednesday it's over. Especially with Maatta probably still out, that's the first D pairing gone. Choke will be real if they lose.

Will the Pens be without Letang?
It would be so Bettman to leave the situation alone.
Still plenty of hockey left in this series. If the dam breaks on Murray look out below....
Preds play SJ at home tonight. This series has been so close hoping they can turn the tables for one game. Pekka's been playing his best hockey.

I'll predict one game. Letang's hit was the same as Orpik's, only with the additional element of launching himself into the player and leaving the ice, so by that standard, it should be the same penalty. But no one thinks it will be. He has a hearing today.
The Caps again are the authors of their own destruction. I gave all the credit to the Pens for their Game 2 win, when they did outplay the Cps, and for their strong effort in Game 1, which could have gone either way. But the Pens really had nothing to do with this one, this was all the Caps being the Caps. There was no defensive effort forcing the Caps to take bad shots (the second goal isn't on the chart, as this only has 5v5 shots):
That's at least 20 shots in front of the net and below the dot. That's just a crazy number of chances, none of which went in until the final minute with an extra skater. Even more disturbing for Caps fans is this little bit of history:
That's Philly Game 5 and Pitt Game 3 placed in context of Games 5-7 of the Habs series in 2010. These two games fit comfortably in the statistical profile of that series. We're getting Halak'ed again, by two different goalies.
We are cursed. The only good news is the Caps have won the last three series in which they have trailed 2 games to 1. But I'm sick of the Caps dominating games and losing in the playoffs. The opponent changes, but not the Caps.

I do have the irrational notion that if the Caps don't win this year they may never win
Posted on 5/3/16 at 10:08 am to Baloo
I'm just tired of ripping it right at the goalie's chest.

I feel the same way. This is ridiculous. Here's the expected goal chart, for more heartburn. Based on shot quality and quantity, the Caps were expected, with normal luck, to score 4.1-1.6 goals and win 85.6% of the time. They lost 3-2. I'm just gonna go drink some bleach.

I know the Caps history but it's a little bit early to hit the panic button. 49 shots and another 8 or so quality chances where they missed the net, minus a lucky bounce and gift goal they are up 2-1. The pens better figure out how to win a draw in their own end. I can't think of a playoff game I saw where one team was getting chance after chance off the drop. Tang will get one game imo.

Japers' Rink ?@JapersRink Kris Letang has been suspended one game for his hit on Marcus Johansson

One game is probably right. If we apply the Orpik Standard, it should be 3 games, but two wrongs don't make a right. Two bad decisions by DOPS doesn't make it right. Both hits should've been a game, though without the Orpik suspension, there is virtually no chance Letang sits Game 4 at all. This was entirely due to public pressure as their video makes it clear they didn't want to suspend Letang at all.
The one thing I do not like at all is that they take the injury into account. Pittsburgh is essentially "rewarded" for playing Maata with concussion like symptoms even before the hit, while the Caps are punished for Mojo's head snapping back into place (though he is out of practice today). Basing the suspension on the injury, not the hit, is a bad practice and will incentivize players to go after perceived tough guys while also encouraging teams to play guys with the proverbial eggshell skull. It's a bad practice in general. If its based on deterrence, it needs to be about the hitter's act not the hittee.
Anyway, makes Game 4 a must win for the Caps. Letang, Maata, and Rust are all likely out.

I did not see the LeTang hit, was it as bad as the Orpik hit?
I know Milbury wasn't Sabre rattling that much during post game. Keith Jones was all over LeTang though it seemed.

Baloo will be sad as he is a closet Flames fan.
Didn't Crawford take over for Hartley in Switzerland? Where Hartley took over for Crawford in Denver?

Flames are gonna hire Bourdreau, and I'm gonna be super excited.

Is that official or speculation? I heard him linked to the Wild yesterday

Speculation/rooting. He's interviewing with the Senators tomorrow, I think.

I don't know if you could handle Boudreau in Calgary. But then again you survived the Mr Spaceley years.
