I don't like to criticize these guys for split second decisions that look ugly on replay. He probably could have let up and instead gave it some extra juice with the elbow, so I'd sit him a game.

Prevent defense from the mid 2nd on was retarded. They were content to hold the lead for too much time remaining. Yes it's nearly impossible to blow a 3 goal lead but still.

Murray is a star at 21. Granted 90% of those shots were very low quality and kept wide with little to no angle.

bullshite. Absolute, 100%, utter bullshite. the Caps took twice as many shots in he first period too, before there was a lead. they took the first 5 shots of the game. This was not the Pens playing score effects. This was the Caps getting a ton of good shots and just being unable to score. Don't believe me? Here's the shot chart.

The Caps fricking dominated this game. Anyone who says differently is either a moron or a liar. Or both. The Caps had 49 shots and couldn't score because it's the postseason and it's the Caps, so clearly it's time for them to turn an AHL goalie into Patrick Roy. Meanwhile, the Pens scored a goal off a guy's back. Because, of course. Because the Caps are fricking cursed.

Also, if Orpik's hit was a 3-game suspension, which it shouldn't have been, than so is Letang's. It should only be a game, but by the Orpik standard, it probably should be 4-5. He left his feet and also turned his head to recognize the pass was gone before launching into the hit. Goose. Gander. all that.

But the officiating was one sided as hell. The Caps lost because they couldn't score because God hates us, but the calls were terrible. Here's Williams getting called for interference:

Williams got slashed across the chest. No call. Crosby slashes the stick out of Ovie's hands. No call. But Letang receives a hit of the stick like you see a million times a game, and it's a 2-minute minor. This is why Caps have a conspiracy compelx. They dominate possession yet lose... hell, they even won hits 58-25. All shot attmepts 85-36. They won every stat by a wide margin... yet were down 3-0 after two.

Because that's what being a Caps fan is like. The only encouraging thing is how the team reacted the game. They seem very cool and collected, refusing to make excuses. Good on them. I'm in full panic. I've seen this movie before.
