Rinne/Nashville is straight garbage. Every game, Winnipeg is able to pile it on. Incredible. They are like sharks catching a scent of blood. They are relentless. Nashville is fricking done. They have no business being on the ice with the Jets.

What a tale of three periods. It's like each one was a totally different game. The 1st was pretty even all the way around, but the tone was set by Holtby letting in a soft one. Then both goalies made some impressive stops and the Caps were fortunate to be up 1 at the end of the period. Then, the 2nd was all Pittsburgh. Holtby pretty much single handedly kept the Caps in the game as the ice tilted so far in one direction. The only good news was that both Pen goals were on the power play. They couldn't break the Caps at evens. And then the 3rd.... Oh my God. The total opposite of Game 4's pitiful effort. Total domination, with an assist from some God awful defense by Letang.
Backstrom's injury is the big concern. If he misses more time... well, I don't know how the Caps can win without him. But missing Wilson turned into a positive as the Caps were able to promote Vrana to the top line. He had a monster game after DSP was a poor imitation of Top Line Tom.

Thank you. Wonder if France will do anything. The group that got them to U18 is now eligible for worlds. Their current U18 got relegated again last month.
