I think this is why Wilson got three games. The league's explainer video said the previous hits had NO BEARING on his punishment. Why, we couldn't consider them, as we said those hits were okay! But I think everyone with a functioning brain knows that is utter bullshite. Of course they considered it.

Wilson probably should have been suspended for hitting Wenneberg from behind and definitely should have for hitting Doumolin. The NHL whiffed on those two. and now that he's knocked out a third player, they are giving him three games, even though Wysh is reporting DoPS thought the hit was legal and was overruled by upper management.

Considering Wilson should have been suspended twice already, I don't have much of a problem for him getting three. It also keep the NHL's Wheel of Justice at a perfect 0% success rate. They endorsed the illegal hits and they are suspending him for the legal one. So they've managed to screw up all three times. Good job, y'all.

But on balance, since Wilson should have already been suspended, I've got no real problem with him getting three, as long as the Penguins now STFU about it.

The worst part of the suspension is now Wilson is going to miss Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Cool stat someone tweeted but now I can't find it. Crosby has been on ice for EVERY Penguins goal (7) in this series. He's also been on ice for 10 Caps goals. So, he's the only guy driving scoring, but he's still -3 in all situations.

I think high event hockey is really fun. I like players who create so much at one end, it tends to lead chances on the other. We have a name for that: good players. Or at least fun. Sorry for trying to actually talk about a huge factor in the series that's actually happening.

Basically, the Penguins are entirely dependent on Crosby right now. When he's not on the ice, they are a clog-the-middle defensive squad trying to play to a 0-0 draw. With him on the ice, they are trying to win the battle of skill.
