I don’t understand why in the age of unprecedented passing have the television camera views not adapted to show more of the secondary. There’s always a healthy amount of green space behind the quarterback and rarely can you see more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage. Most people now have 60” + televisions but have no idea what’s going on downfield. It’s always mystery when the QBs throw the ball downfield what is going on. What would you recommend that they do to improve this? Should they start tight and pan out when it’s obvious that it’s a pass play? Or start wide and zoom in once a ball carrier has the ball? Or is it just the reality of standard 16:9 aspect ratios and there’s nothing that can be done? This is one of the biggest advantages to attending in person in my opinion.

The “lets follow the punt returner as he finally breaks a long return” angle always pisses me off.

Agreed. A camera behind the QB like in madden during the play would be great. Seeing the horizontal camera shot after the play would still be helpful.

When NBC did a full SkyCam broadcast people hated on it. But as a Madden player I freakin loved it. You see running lanes open up, pre snap coverages and all receiver routes develop

I agree, even for basketball, the above the rim cam made the NBA playoffs somewhat interesting seeing plays open up.

The only complaint about the ESPN sky cam for football is that they don’t have the option to turn on the scoreboard and commentators.

All-22 Cam is the best. ESPN gives the option on their app to watch the whole game that way if you want for the bigger Bowls.

Speaking of camera angles.... Bills, Ravens, and Titans. It’s way too close to the field and makes everything look so tight.

Go watch highlights of a Falcons or Browns (best angles in the NFL) game and compare it to the Ravens or Bills. It’s night and day. Put that shite higher!

The All-22 view would be great for replays to show how a play developed.

I've read that the NFL makes All-22 tape but keeps it out of public view for various reasons, including that it would open players and teams up to more public criticism based on their play.

I think NFL Game Pass has a All 22 copy of all games but it’s a monthly subscription

I was just coming post this. I’ve read the same. Only other teams in the league get that video.
