He lived in a house with other Cardinals' employees (i.e. entry level type folks renting a house together)

The house was apparently in Jupiter, Fl. Nothing definitive either way, but certainly opens up more possibilities than the "lowly interns just scraping by and trying to make it in St Louis" angle.

Time will tell, but my first thought is Mo ain't sharing a house with other guys, which apparently was the case here.

Then there's this too. LINK Doesn't sound like the upper ranks knew.

Lots of talk today that there may be some resolution by the end of the week, at least as far as criminal charges.

Even though everyone wants to talk about Lebron, this is just a friendly reminder that BFIB can't win a game without cheating!

... Well, the Cardinals won the day the news broke, so... If you're saying they can't win without hacking their competitors, which is a fricking nonsensical statement, then you're both wrong and an idiot.

This is a very important point that needs to be bumped.

More developments in the Cardinals-Astros hacking case, as Evan Drellich of the Houston Chronicle reports that, contrary to what has heretofore been reported, the illegal accessing of the Astros computer system by Cardinals employees went back as far as 2012 — a good year earlier than first thought — and “was not limited to one or two occasions

It is my understanding that although teams can not file suit against another, an individual could.

So Luhnow could file suit against the cardinals if he felt he was harmed professionally by their actions.

I doubt it. But I guess it's possible.

My personal take on this: Cards will get some significant MLB penalties. Astros will get a "too bad, next time hire better IT security staff" message behind closed doors. All this crazy talk about the Astros getting Cardinals draft picks, or payment, etc -- I don't know if there are any rules allowing that to take place. If someone knows - point me to it so I can check it out.

There is no way the Astros will get extra picks IMO. I don't know what rules exist but that seems crazy

Though I certainly hope it happens

No one will sue, it will be worked out by the Astros getting draft picks, Cardinals losing picks, and the Cardinals paying a significant fine.

A lawsuit would open up Luhnow to a possible counter suit as well from the Cardinals. Its very convoluted.

I can see Cardinals losing picks. I don't see the Astros getting anything. The only way they get awarded something as a competitive balance thing is if they can show that they were damaged because of the breach.

who would they sue? The low level intern who is probably already going to jail? what would that prove/gain?

Nothing like a top round pick, but as you stated maybe a late round competitive balance pick or two

Yeah, the Cardinals will probably have to give the Astros money and maybe a competitive balance pick.

I dont think the Astros will sue. I was just saying that IF there is some question about what Luhnow took from his work with the Cardinals that would/could be exposed during any discovery phase.

I'm assuming this is hacking related?
