Im guessing they will get a slap on the wrist.
Way too early to say that. We don't know who had knowledge of it going on, who was doing it, what they actually did with it and so on.

You are way too rational for this board.

Seems like you are intimately familiar with that scandal.

Well the good news is now Cardinals fans now can act like every call against them is part of a conspiracy. Ex. Saints Fans

Interesting in that it gives some history, but like all other reports, the SI article doesn't have any new information

what we do know is that the data base was built for the Astros.... Some how someone (or somepeople) from the Cards organization hacked into it. #1 hot did they get into the server, find the server to find the data base? #2 knowing his passwords and using them is still hacking. #3 all of this is still illegal and if proven true STL will be fined heavily and possible loss of draft picks/compensation picks......
A lot of people are brushing this off as nothing, but it has some serious implications and something I expect MLB to look into as well. So you probably get fined a several million dollar fine from the federal government and then another fine from MLB.

Precisely.
This thread is full of a whole bunch of meh.

They should move the Cards to Montreal

This thread = a bunch of sports fan trying to discuss the implications and cardinals fans calling those people out and making up bullshite to cover their favorite team's arse.

This is what I'm wondering as well. I guess Luhnow just used the same exact cloud software with the astros that he did with cardinals.
While it says it was all proprietary stuff, if it were truly in-house only, I don't see how someone outside could find it.

Don't disagree with much of this but I don't think many are brushing it off as nothing. If anything they're sitting back and waiting for more info. As far as how hard the Cards are hit probably depends on who did it, who knew about it, and exactly what was done.

Im waiting for more details before I start calling for heads in our Front Office. If it was a well known/widespread thing in our FO they all need to go.
That SI article makes it seem like its centered on a single incident in 2013.

There you arrogant Cards fans go again, brushing things off like it's no big deal.

I could be way off, it might not have even been the Astros, but wasn't there a leak of emails and such for some team about a year or two ago. It was all stuff that had already gone on but it was some pretty embarrassing stuff if I remember correctly. Some emails between a GM and other GM's, some internal emails where they weren't putting certain players, managers and GM's in a good light. Am I crazy or do y'all remember that too?

See my previous post re: Deadspin.

Are you talking about the stuff leaked to Deadspin from the Astros database in June last year? Because that is directly related to this
