Trolling right??

He literally said being white is like getting a 50 meter head start in a 100 meter race.
That's some of the dumbest shite I've ever heard

Right, if you sit back in this country and wait on everything to be handed to you, then you’re going to get run the frick over.

I don’t doubt all different types of people are born with challenges that others don’t face, but I do believe that everyone can be successful with personal responsibility and drive.

Not everyone's dealt the same cards in life. Some people have to work harder than others and have more obstacles to overcome to get somewhere; some might work and fight their entire lives and never achieve anything. That's just a fact of life - its not fair and it can absolutely suck.

I guess it's just the cynic in me coming out, but sometimes you just gotta take what you have and make the best of it.

Everything you point to is a culture issue. Is the NOLA/Orleans/Jefferson school systems failing because of money? Spending per student seems to be in-line with better performing districts. Teacher's salaries not high enough to attract top talent? Average salary is above state average so that appears to be a no. General disregard for the value of an education? Possibly.

Single mom?!? Cultural or system?

Street life, cultural or system? Possibly both here. Minor drug charges can inhibit upward growth and ones ability to find gainful employment, but did the education system and disregard for it have an equal, lesser, or greater impact on developing the urban street lifestyle and culture?

I think those dismissing the issues you elude to are a minority. However, your dismissal of the culture being the primary driver and inhibitor is just as callous as those saying nothing is wrong, leave the country. You want conversation but can't stand when the conversation and facts show that the biggest road block to a black man today is his own community and culture.

The US has the biggest mixture of demographics on this planet with the least amount of racism. It is held to a higher standard and the US upholds that standard.

When has Pop said anything about the way athletics are treated when it comes to their race in Europe?

Pop's whole point is a farce.

its a systemic problem that has been perpetuated for nearly 2 centuries. It's not something they woke up doing to themselves last year.

White people have a hand in it, sure. Dude, read this thread. You cant even get someone to give the faintest admittal that there may be a problem

What about the inequalities for all races in poor rural America? Is that a racial thing too?
I have seen entire towns in OK with no jobs, youth strung out on meth and opiates, single moms, tax base full of old people that are dying off and very few if any blacks. Where is their white privilege?

economically they can relate, but they do not have the same social barriers that black people (or other minorities) face.

supa, white privilege is not just about money, or being born into money or being born poor. And it surely isn't an insult. The people that get offended are the ones you have to worry about. It's not your(im not saying you, just people in general) fault that you were born with white skin. But whether you realize it or not, you benefit from that.

If you deny white privilege exists, you are denying that white people and black people experience the world in different ways.

South America has as much diversity as America. Maybe Pop can go coach Chile?

Or Turkey? Where racists live.

I've been to South Africa, India, South America, China and Japan.

Asia is racist as frick.

Here's a survey:

+ (of individuals surveyed would not want a person of another race as a neighbour)

THE MOST TOLERANT COUNTRIES

0 to 4.9%
United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Britain, Sweden, Norway, Latvia, Australia, New Zealand

LEAST TOLERANT COUNTRIES:

40%
India, Jordan

30 - 39.9%
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea

20 - 39.9%
Turkey, Bulgaria, Algeria, Morocco, Mali, Zambia, Thailand, Malaysia, The Philippines, Bangladesh, Hong Kong

19.9% Venezuela, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Macedonia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Russia, China

GFY. Want to explain why African immigrants are more successful than average native citizens of America? Do they have foreigner privilege?

There's been numerous studies and it's shown the only civilization that isn't racist...

Is Western Civilization.

But that's racist to say that.

And because Western Civ is so un-racist, they've destroyed their livelihood and culture in Europe.

I think on the surface this is easy to say. The cycle that has been forged through generations is a hard one to break, wouldn't you say?

How many of us as children were directed by our parents? Where we'd go to school. In some cases, who'd pay for school. Who pressured you to keep your grades up? Then it was "Ya gotta go to college too, sonny boy!" Let me help you fill out this FAFSA bullshite ....he's how to establish a credit line, son. Here's how to balance a check book. This is how you practice safe sex, or court women....this is how you make an honest living..." dude i dont know about you, but my parents had a huge influence on how I was raised and who i am today.

What do you do when your parents fail you? Their parents failed them? Your school system fails you? Society fails you? It's easy to say break the chain, but it has to be fricking tough.

Thanks for the intelligent response by the way.

Of there is any privilege in this country it is 100% class privilege. LeBron James kids are going to have way more provslege than anyone on this board because they have multi generational wealth.

white people and black people have different world experiences because they are raised in different cultures, generally. Same can be said about Hispanics and Asians, and that can be further broken down to country of origin. If that's racist then there is nothing we can do to fix racism because cultural differences have always and will always exist, and I don't see the problem with that.

You can make this point and in some ways I agree with you, but where does race determine this? Again, this is all culutral and has nothing to do with race. Correlation and causation.

i think one of the great poets of the 20th century explained it the best

I
quote:

t's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes
Let's change the way we eat
Let's change the way we live
And let's change the way we treat each other
You see the old way wasn't workin'
So it's on us to do what we gotta do to survive
