Baseball teams in September should have a Trindon Holiday type speedster to pinch run if someone gets a single in the 9th and you're down a run. Quickly steal 2 bases and get a tying runner on third with less than 2 outs.
Expanded rosters in September means plenty of extra roster spots for a speedster. If you have a specialist like a closer, why not a running specialist?
teams have speed camps. Blazing FB players, successful track guys etc all with the hope of being able to do just this. Hasn't worked yet.

Yea it doesnt seem like their extra speed can outweigh the experience and instinct of baseball speed guy on the bench

4 TEs. Unstoppable to defend in the current NFL and College league. Get 4 pass catching TEs and no one could stop you. Run the ball down their throats with 4 guys as big or bigger than LBers then next play have them running 15 yards down the middle of the field against DBs 5'' shorter
2008 Oklahoma ran a lot of their offense with 3 TE. It was lethal.

I really really really want to see an elite team run the triple option (or veer, wishbone, etc) - either at the collegiate level or the NFL
NFL QB salaries are too high for any team to run the risk of running their QB 30 times a game

Not sure exactly how you would legally do this, but I would love to see a team run an entire offensive series from the shield punt formation:
A-11 Offense
This offense got banned a few years ago in high school

Defense does not get to sub or to rest.
Unless the offense subs. In college if the offense subs the defense must be allowed to sub.

In 1950...
Ohio State and Michigan combined to punt for 45 times in their game.
Sure the weather sucked really bad...but they punted on 1st down just to get it to the other end and hope for a turnover.
How that would never fly today. But that would be a funny strategy to see. Punting on 1st down if your offense sucked like Florida and you punted from the 50.
BTW, the most punts in a CFB game is Texas Tech vs. Cenenary...in a driving rainstorm.
77 punts.
67 came on 1st down.
Teams used to punt on 1st down in really bad weather.

I'd just like to see the qb pooch punt on 3rd

I would be interested in a P5 or NFL team that never punted on 4th and 1 or on the plus side of midfield. In the NFL, the success rate on 4th and 1 runs is 70% and the success when using QB sneaks is over 80%. Granted the difference between 6 inches and 3 feet is huge, but IMO punting on 4th and 1 outside of very specific end of half and game scenarios is statistical madness.

Going for it on 4th down has been mathematically proven to be the superior strategy in way more positions than it's typically done in.
Fans, coaches, and the media fixate on the "risk" without any regard for thinking of the reward.
So yes, a coach needs to grow some balls and adhere to correct strategy and let the haters be damned.

A surprise punt on 3rd and very long (say 3rd and 20+ or something) would not be a bad idea.
Assuming you had a punter who could make the ball roll a long way, you could get some 60-70 yard punts in.
Seems like a much better idea than a draw play up the middle for 7 yards then a conventional punt.

Watching the way Hinch handled the combination of Peacock, Morton, LMJ this past playoffs really showed this in practice for once. The days of old school relievers who would throw 4-5 innings, Mike Marshall when he pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers

Going for 2 when you score in the 4th to try and get a 9 point lead
This x100. These genius coaches lead by 1, score a TD, and then kick a PAT to go up 8. This lets the opponent control their ability to go into OT. Making a 2 point conversion is not the most difficult thing in the world.
Instead, the team that scores should go for 2. If they don’t get it, they still lead by 7. Big deal. If they do get it, they could ice the game with a 9 point lead.

The 3rd and long draw and screen seems to work a decent amount for it to still be a relevant play, especially over punting.
Now maybe if it’s somehow like 3rd and 40 or something, but I’ve seen plenty of 3rd and 20’s be converted on screens and draws because of stupid DC’s playing a dime defense allowing more space for the ball carriers to work with. We saw what happens when you ask a bunch of a DB’s to open field tackle with a few blockers in the way in the Dallas and KC game before halftime.

I think college football programs should offer scholarships to basketball players. Putting two 6’11 guys in with 38 inch verticals is worth at least a few points each year on FGs.

You wouldn’t have to pay those QBs as much or even close to the league norm.
I’d like an NFL team to base its offense off of using one read and then run if it’s not there type QBs we see in college. You should save a ton of cap space paying those QBs less than the now endangered prototypical pocket passer.
My worry is how the QB rules are and rosters. Still, keep a slash type as a WR on the team as an emergency QB.
Keep an extra qb or two on the practice squad.
Hell, you could have a short yardage qb like Tebow and a normal starter like, I dunno, jalen hurts in a couple years or something. The number of QBs that fit your system would be astronomical compared to everyone else in the league.
ETA: cool post OP!!

A 2 QB offense. As in there are always two QBs on the field.
Not sure how that possibly works.
If you have a team with a good athletic dual-threat QB, put him in at the tailback. Over half your offensive plays, run a toss sweep with a run-pass option. On the other plays, fake the toss, and have the QB under center roll the other way.
