Looks like Biloxi might becoming a hot spot for sports gambling for people in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle.

Clay Travis chimes in

So Louisiana is one of five states backing New Jersey in getting sports betting legalized, but daily fantasy sports are still prohibited in Louisiana?

Except that some of the biggest operators also run casinos in Mississippi including but not limited to MGM Resort, Ceaser's Entertainment and Boyd Gaming. And the book operator William Hill will be more than glad to operate for any of the independent casinos.

This is the Marbury v. Madison of Degenerate Gambling Nation. A sovereign to which I proudly pledge allegiance.

Actually no. The casinos in the south are tied to Las Vegas casinos (I know some are, not sure about all). This would actually increase revenue for them so they should be all for it.

Casinos have sports betting. Draft Kings is independent of them.

If the casinos owned the fantasy sports sites, they'd support legalization.

If sports betting was legalized in Louisiana, I would literally camp out in the sports books every Saturday and Sunday during football seasons. My God.

What's the point though? You can gamble on anything you can imagine and more on sites like 5dimes. I don't see the allure of being able to go to a window and purchase a paper ticket when I can just as easily use my smartphone and place the bet from my couch.

It would be nice to go to the window and just pick up the money the same day than waiting a couple of weeks for these offshore sites to send you a check for it.
