The entire NBA history has been designed to make sure the Lakers, Celtics, or Knicks are competitive. Everyone in their right mind should cheer for the other teams

Yeah but thats because they are so incredibly dumb. The NBA is still actively trying to right that ship. I think they misjudged Melo and Amare, neither has a competitive winning attitude.

Auburn boosters, who owned Banks in Atlanta and Charlotte that were bailed out with Tarp money, funneled Tarp money through a casino that they owned and rigged slots so that recruits (including Cam Newton and Nick Fairly) would win automatically. They basically embezzled taxpayer money through a casino to pay players to go to Auburn and win a National Title.

The Tuck Rule was a conspiracy to screw the Raiders.

Aaron Brooks intentionally threw games so he could bet on the outcomes to win money to finance his cocaine habit.

The NFL made up the tuck rule on the spot for the 2001 Patriots because of their name and what happened that same year in America. Seriously. Big tragedy, their name is the Patriots, they benefit because of a rule that had never ever been called at any level of football before then.

Pretty obvious.

1997 NLCS Atlanta v. Miami. Livan Hernandez on the mound for Miami had a strike zone about 18 inches either side of the plate. To me...MLB wanted a Cuban born player to succeed and help his team to the WS. I remember the Bob Costas comment afterwards "Everyone knew that Eric Gregg liked a big plate, but who knew he liked it that big"

Never heard this one. Can you elaborate? I understand that the NFL may have wanted the saints to win but were there calls during the game that changed the outcome?

Lakers trading for Pau Gasol while giving up next to nothing.

they got 2, 1sts, marc gasol, and a shite ton of cap room. that happens all the time in the NBA

everybody loves to bring this trade up but before the trade pau gasol wasn't a big name, had made 1 all-star team, and most people thought he didn't belong on that all-star team

quote:

Lakers trading for Dwight Howard while giving up almost nothing leaving the smaller market Magic devastated and leaving their cupboard empty.

Or the Magic were just dumb.

the magic had a bunch of other options to deal dwight, waited too long, and had 1 team to trade dwight to. the nets were offering a similar deal with a much better young player

when nba teams trade superstars it's usually for cap room, some picks, and a young player. that's what the lakers did for gasol and howard. that's what the clips did for cp3. that was what happened with kg to boston. that's sort of what happened when tmac went to houston.

quote:

All the players going to the Knicks, Linsanity.

the knicks got melo b/c that's the only team that he would play for and they got a bunch of young guys and cap space. amare/chandler were FAs. lin had bounced around for years and signed a FA deal with the knicks. the knicks cut out cap space for like 4 years to have that cap room.

quote:

The Big 3 in Boston

they already had pierce. they drafted rondo

kg wanted out. the sonics wanted to rebuild. kg was dealt for cap room + a young talent (as is the usual formula). allen was dealt for cap relief. nothing bad or heinous occurred

quote:

with Blake Griffin in every commercial ever made.

he was a draft pick, not a trade, and nobody thought he'd be this superstar PR guy when he came out

No, I think the Falcons agreed before the game to throw it. I think the blocked punt was a setup and the Falcons didn't try the whole game.

Come on...you think the falcons agreed to lose on purpose to their most hated rivals? Get out of here with that.

And thanks for posting that video. Great moment to watch for any sports fan. The fact that you said its a setup means you're either trolling me or a little slow.

The real question is this:

After Stern dies, just how many 30 for 30 episodes will there be about what REALLY happened under his watch?
