re: Spinoff: More skilled player: MJ or Steph Curry?

Is will to win a skill?
mental and physical intimidation?
Or are we asking who would win in horse and dribbling through an obstacle course? Because Steph might win unless that obstacle course asks you to jump a wall.
those things are great and all. but I take a team of mike and four robots over Steph and four robots 10 out of 10.

Curry has better offensive skills(outside of driving), but MJ was a much better defender, more athletically gifted, and cold blooded.
Greatest player ever does not equal most skilled player ever. Athleticism, skills, metal makeup, etc. all play in to being the best ever. Skill is just a part of the equation.

Nailed it.

Who is taller? MJ or Shaq?
And the response would be:
"Shaq is taller, BUT, MJ had the will to win and desire like no other. I take MJ 10/10 over Shaq"

Lebron is a far better passer than Steph. and MJ. But that's okay.
The most offensively skilled NBA player in history? Might be Steph or Maravich as littles maybe Nash or Cousy. Lebron and Bird as wings. Duncan Hakeem and McHale as bigs.
Steph is mighty skilled. He d have to be to dominate with that frame and height.
But basketball isn't always about skill. Or else shaq wouldn't be a top 10.

So true

MJ has this mythical god-like presence to people like he never ever missed a shot and never lost a game.

MJ is still a god in this crowd.

LeBron is more skilled than MJ, too. Again, that doesn't necessarily mean that I think he is the better player.

Another great rational post.

Jordan was better with a glove and had a stronger arm. He had trouble with AA curve balls, but Curry never made it to single A.

I can't agree with this one. LeBron is a better passer, but MJ is definitely a better shooter and dribbler. And even the footwork goes to MJ. LeBron is better at size though, and his quickness for his size is just stupid.

quote:I disagree. Lebron better passer, MJ better shooter, and both as effective in their own way with the ball. Skills wise I put them pretty even, with edge to MJ

This would seem like the most obvious answer.

Does anyone else view Jordan's post game as a skill, and also more valuable/unique then any single thing curry does?

Steph ain't got that unstoppable fadeaway J.
