Please explain why it's so important.

Pitchers aren't judged on World Series.

Basketball players are somewhat rightly judged based on the fact that one great basketball player has more impact that any other player in team sports IMO.

Now, are willing to tell me that Trent Dilfer or Mark Rypien are one of best QB's in NFL history? One of the best 30 or so?

Roethlisberger is better than Peyton?

Doug Williams is equal to Peyton?

Marino is not one of the top 30 or so QB's?

Brad Johnson is equal to Steve Young?

As I previously stated, are you the same people that still think that Wins and ERA in baseball are the greatest measure of a good/great pitcher?

Because Brees won one and Ryan hasn't. It's what they cling on to in order to forget their franchise has been shite for most of the time they have been in the NFL.

If Brees didn't win one and still played at the same level they wouldn't put as much stock in it.

Super Bowl or not Dan Marino was the best thrower of the football in NFL history. People just don't understand how hard it is to win in the NFL or pro sports in general.

Being a Falcon and Bulldog fan must really suck when people start talking about championships.

Football is a TEAM game... It ALL has to come together for a team to win it... Is Dilfer a great QB?? NO. He took advantadge of a great "D". Is Montana a GREAT QB??? Sure.. But had a shitload of talent around him and one of the greatest offensive minds coaching him.... Doug Williams had the game of his life, with a great team around him. THIS is why I say Elway was the best... He lost Sb's by basically taking teams with hardly any talent to 3 sb's ..yes they lost, but ...When he got what he needed he shined.... I don't think Montana takes those Denver teams to the Sb like Elway did... BUT Marino was a great QB... Like Fouts was... Stats are great, but................

This argument is more often used by Brady lovers. There are several other stats that you can look at that will tell you that Brees is better than Ryan.

I love how 1 ring compared to no rings is proof. But those same people don't also think that 2 rings is proof over 1 ring.

Well, 12 replies and no explanation as to why QB's are judged by Super Bowls.

Winning a Super Bowl doesnt mean you are a great QB. I agree with that. And just because you dont win a Super Bowl doesnt mean you arent a great QB.

But, each season teams are playing to get to the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl. And QB is the top guy on the team, and the most demanding position in all of sports. When a team with a great QB like Manning falls short, the QB/coach gets the blame. Regardless how he played. Hes the top guy. If they fall short of their journey, people look at the coach and the QB.

Its just what comes with the nature of being a QB. Especially if youre a great QB like Manning. People dont understand how a great QB like Manning could lose against a QB like Flacco. But it happens.

And its also how Manning / other great QBs have lost some playoff games. A bad decisions / throws that he shouldnt have made that ends up costing them the game is magnified because its the playoffs. Thats all that people remember. They dont remember the 4 TDs and 350 yards that the QB threw for. Or how many points their D gave up. They remember the QB throwing an INT in the biggest moment of the game.

Its not right. At all. But its what playing QB is all about. Youre either the hero or a choke. Theres no silver lining.

Pitchers arent judged on World Series because at most they will take the mound twice in a best of 7 series.

absurd comparison. GTFO with this. pitchers play once every 5 games. QBs play every game.
