I find the allegations about Darrent Williams getting $25K or more to be the kind of salacious bullshite that makes me want to ignore the article.

That's not to say someone wasn't paying Williams, but it is horseshite to use payments to a dead guy as one of your big examples given that he can't exactly contradict them.

I simply find it hard to believe anybody would be stupid enough to pay players who are ALREADY on the team... a recruit?... I can understand... but a dude already on the roster?... what's the point?

All top schools are doing that stuff these days. If anyone doesn't think LSU is doing this now, they are dreaming. If anyone has been paying attention with all the probation we've been on lately...I think it's obvious...

sorta meh because I believe generally speaking, most of that stuff happens to some degree everywhere.

A little shocked to see the coaches were apparently so involved.

These stories don't even matter anymore, everybody knows it goes on at just about every major program in some form. The only good that can come from this are some major rule changes in the way players are treated OR maybe we can finally tell the NCAA to GTFO of major college football

Saban recruited Girtman to LSU at that time.

The thing that bugs me

T. Boone Pickens, the school's most prominent booster, was not implicated in any improprieties by SI's sources.

Guaranteed he's behind some of it, doing it through other boosters if necessary. He's just smart enough to not have it traced back to him.

SI wouldn't be stupid enough to accuse him of this without bulletproof evidence. He would own SI by the end of the week.
