However, soccer has concussions not reported , because no one cares.
IIRC, soccer had a higher rate of concussions/CTE than even football. All those unprotected heads running around crashing into each other. And gravity creates some serious force on the ball itself when the keeper kicks it 100ft in the air.
A buddy of mine was concussed in high school, he and another guy butted heads instead of the ball. They were both about 3 feet in the air & came down HARD.
People that think soccer's for pansies need to line up & do 50 reps of diving headers imo

RIP. Looks like this guy used to play for CD Castellon the team owned by Bob Volgaris the sports bettor who parlayed his betting career into a job leading the Mavs org. After leaving the Mavs He bought a 3rd division team in Spain a few years ago and currently they are at the very top of the 2nd division and looking like they will move up.

Reckless yes but not malicious. It was a gamble.

Goalie was immediately red carded & he was leaving the field until he realized the player was seriously injured and returned to check on him. It didn’t seem like there was a big reaction that it was malicious
Yeah, that's a reckless play to save a goal. He knew it and didn't protest the red card and just walked off professionally.
As bad as I feel for the guy who died, feel bad for the goalie. He clearly wasn't trying to be a POS. Now they opened an investigation into him, which has to make it feel even worse that he could be facing criminal charges.
I venture if you look through all the leagues you can find a collision that looks as bad as that one was probably once a week. Crazy how different the outcomes can turn out.
