For the record, I am not some LeBron sycophant and I don't always agree with his political statements. I do admire the fact that he is willing to step away from the NBA Plantation.

There was virtually no competition at the cinema this weekend, it's an animated kids movie, which are about as much of a box office lock that exists, it's an established IP that has a huge nostalgia factor for people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s (not coincidentally the age of parents of young kids), and people are itching for anything released in theaters after being away from them for a year+.

Any star athlete with a pulse could have started in this movie and it would have won the weekend...

Numbers from one weekend. Doesn’t include worldwide numbers, merchandising, future video and streaming rights, etc. And theater numbers across the board are way down because people are still staying home.

Look. I don’t like him either and I don’t care what he tweets. And this movie looks and sounds objectively bad. But you Politards who try to dunk on him after every minor setback is just sad and desperate.
