Why do you guys think didnt respond to the sanctions and just let his titles get stripped?
Because it's a witch hunt. He's passed over 500 drug tests. He's spent time and money defending himself with zero proof showing he did anything wrong. And yet, Travis Tygart and the USADA refuses to acknowledge the lack of evidence and continues to force him to defend himself.
It's like Obama and the birthers and Romney and the Tax return nuts. It doesn't matter what he proves, they aren't going to believe him.

So you think literally every major figure on USPS was doping and will testify against Lance saying he was as well as every other big player in the sport was, yet lance was clean? Lol ok.
All it takes is one look at the times up famous climbs then and now to see that the entire peleton was juiced to the gills

I never said whether I think he was juicing or not. The facts remain that he has passed over 500 drug tests with zero failed tests. The USADA has a testing procedure in place, and Lance Armstrong cooperated and was never found guilty.
They need to move on.

Pretty much this. He passed the tests and if we're going to just strip people of their titles because of he-said/she-said accusations, then why bother having the tests? There's just no standard here.
Besides, cycling has ALWAYS been drug dirty. Jacques Anquiteil claims that he was blood doping, and he won the Tour five times in the 60s. Pretty much the entire field from Armstrong's era has been caught doping. So, let's assume Lance doped. He doped in a sport with a long tradition of doping and beat a field full of dopers. So what?
I think he stopped fighting it because who gives a shite? He has the money and the titles (the USADA lacks the authority to strip him) and he's not racing anymore. Just retire to a beach and be done with it.

Romney and the Tax return nuts
This is not like the birthers at all. Romney ran on his business acumen, and cited Bain Capital. When the light was shined on Bain Capital, he claimed that he wasn't working for Bain at the time that certain things occurred. One set of financial documents lists him as a Bain employee during that time frame, but Romney denied being an employee during that time. One sure fire way to prove that is to show that he didn't receive any salary from Bain during the time that he claimed he wasn't a Bain employee. The only way to do that is to release his tax returns from that period of time.

Well if the guy who said he was doping with Lance, got caught, why didn't the same test prove Lance was guilty?
It doesn't make sense.

armstrong did fail a test before the tour de switzerlanda and apparently a "donation" was made to that tour and the test was thrown out.

People seem to overlook or forget this.
But stripping titles doesn't do anything.
To be honest, I think that they should allow doping and PEDs in professional sports. Have the athletes under doctor supervision and constant observation to ensure that dosages and chemical mixtures are accurate and pure.

Hamilton didn't get caught until he left the Posties. And it was a bitter divorce. There was a Spanish lab that got busted that had all of these blood samples from high profile cyclists and soccer players. Hamilton was busted in that. He also flunked a test at the Olympics.

The "light" that was shined was just political BS. And its exactly the same, in that political opponents make charges and demand "proof" and won't be satisfied either way.
end derailment

Hamilton got caught while on another team for having someone else's blood in him after a transfusion. He was not caught while on USPS

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced Friday it was banning cyclist Lance Armstrong for life and stripping him of his record seven Tour de France titles. In a news release, USADA said Armstrong’s decision not to take the charges against him to arbitration triggers the lifetime ban and forfeiture of his Tour victories from 1999 to 2005.

I know the USADA says they stripped him. I read that article, too. But they lack the authority to do so. I can announce I'm stripping the Giants of their Super Bowl title, it doesn't make it so. The Tour de France is pretty clearly outside the US Doping Agency's jurisdiction, seeing as it is France. The UCI and the Tour have not stripped Lance of his titles yet. They can, based on the USADA ruling, but they have not done so.

You'd think that science would've caught up with the cheaters by now and they'd be able to determine if his samples from a decade ago were dirty or not.
As I understand it, explained to me by a friend who follows cycling, it was the scientists responsible for testing for PEDs that were actually distributing the stuff. No wonder there were so few positives.
