You and others in here carry the water for LIV just as much or worse. The lack of self reflection is classic

You realize when they sign more guys in the top 15 and they fall out of it without accumulating the points, you will continue to be able to say no top 15 guys? You will look foolish, but you will be able to say it.

So when 10 of the best players in the world are playing on the LIV tour, but aren't in the top 20 of the OWGR, you don't think that makes it worthless? I do.

There are a ton of no name garbage tournaments that earn OWGR points. I think with how competitive the LIV field is now, and continues to get stronger, they will get approved.

At this point gate is open and if Morikawa goes its going to get blown wide open. PGA best option is to allow players to play in both events.

The PGA is beclowning themselves and they're going to double down on Wednesday. Unbelievable. Don't tell me the anti-LIV crowd is wanting whats best for the game siding with the PGA here. It's a dellusion that they have the power and the leverage to stop this league from existing.

Jay Monahan is on the governing body of the OWGR…..

LIV with no ranking points effectively kills itself

You've dug your heels in to this thing with OWGR, some times guaranteeing they will not be awarded points. Why do you think Jay holds so much power? It's one vote.

quote:

It’s going to be interesting because on the board that votes on the OWGR points... here’s Jay Monahan,” Norman added. “Now, it’ll be interesting to see if Jay Monahan recuses himself from that vote because of what he said on television with Jim Nantz the other day.

“So it’s very interesting and it’s sad to be, you know, putting that additional exerting pressure on it because our tour is a good tour. It’s supported, it’s got an incredible field.

“Our point should be that if we get the OWGR points, then everything else takes care of itself.”

Don't know why anybody is cheering on LIV. I assume it's the same kind of person that just loves the chaos and to see the world burn. Doesn't affect them so why not enjoy watching the destruction?

These guys going to LIV getting paid more to do less, but once the destruction of the PGA Tour is complete will the paydays continue? Doubtful.

None of this is good for the consumer. LIV doesn't produce better golfers. Actually, it's the opposite. LIV players play less and lack the motivation to get better. In essence, the money and guaranteed make them soft.

Don't know why any American golf fan would want to see a USA based tour destroyed and replaced by a Saudi backed tour.

They will get approved. Can't have top players on the LIV tour and not give them. Might get denied now, but it will happen. That's why pride doesn't want the top guys to go. It makes it inevitable.

Yeah if the rumors around this next group is true then they will have to back down for sure

Koepka was always an obvious defection, I’m talking more Smith Morikawa etc

Just to let you know, the DPTour CEO is also on the OWGR board. They are expected to announce their LIV ban Thursday…..

I'm all for the free market and if these guys want to cash in to essentially play exhibition golf, more power to them.

However, as a fan of the sport and its history, this makes me sad.

If LIV doesn’t get approved for OWGR points, I could see the majors making changes to their qualification system.
Can’t cut their nose off to spite their face. If they don’t have the best players in the world competing it’s just another golf tournament.

Got news for you, just about everything you enjoy in life is backed by Saudi in some capacity.
