From Chris Mannix:
quote:

In meeting, players are demanding an action plan, sources told @SInow. They want to see something from NBA owners. Meeting has been led by Chris Paul and Andre Iguodala, though many other players are speaking.

Players spoke passionately about voting and police reform, per sources. There's a sense from some that if owners don't come up with something that makes them believe staying will help move these important issues forward, this season is done.

From WOJ:
quote:

Before a packed room of teams in a hotel ballroom at Disney, the discussion is centering on whether to continue with the playoffs -- or end the season, sources tell ESPN. So far, there seems to be momentum not to play the three playoff games on Thursday, but nothing's decided.

quote:

So far, speakers in the meeting of NBA players tonight: NBPA president Chris Paul, NBPA VP Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver and Clippers coach Doc Rivers, sources tell ESPN.

The NBA has scheduled a special Board of Governors meeting on Thursday morning, sources tell ESPN.

?

the players are the ones with huge platforms, why dont they come up with something?

its almost like there is not an answer to a societal problem that is going to take multiple generations of progress to "fix"

They have backed themselves in to a corner. Ending the season is the only way you “stay on the right side of history” as Boom and his boy Adam say.

Can’t resume play until racism ceases to exist.

The best part is they want the owners do the actual work while they sit on their arse

I was excited when they started back up but I really hope they cancel now. Don’t even give a frick anymore and it would be hilarious

This. What possibly could NBA owners do that would have any literal impact? I mean the players have already kneeled for the anthem and BLM is painted on the court. Symbolism changes nothing.

So not playing tonight and tomorrow but starting back up Friday..what does that accomplish? The Brewers didn’t play tonight but will likely play tomorrow. Wtf. This is all so damn stupid.
