KD is a more pure shooter so.....he is. James is a better athlete....that's not the questions though.

Well I'm sure the inevitable Kevin Durant is not clutch sentiments will start showing up if he doesn't win a title in the next few years.

I would think Durant being that he gets the superstar calls, is a better shooter, and is a great FT shooter.

The difference is Lebron is the best all around player in basketball and brings it the whole game 99% of the time. He also plays team ball. I think the main thing that swings it in Durant's favor is pure FT statistics. Lebron is much more clutch on a defensive stop though.

I hate the idea of "clutch" though as baskets scored in the first quarter are worth the same as baskets in the fourth.

Based on what's actually happened on offense and defense over the past few seasons, there really isn't argument for Durant.

This is the first season Durant has been better than LeBron in late games situations on offense, but it's a really, really small sample. So let's wait and see how that plays out.

Last season LeBron was slightly better, and 2 seasons ago LeBron was amazing.

Taking into account that clutch situations occur on defense too (even though nobody seems to ever take these into account when they are half of what a player does late in games) I'd pick LeBron.

Also, people forget because the Finals has clouded everyone's minds, but LeBron was ridiculous in late games against the Celtics and the Bulls. And carried the Heat to the Finals, while Wade was playing some of the worst basketball I've ever watched him play. And KD was often being passive in the 4th and getting pushed around by Battier and Marion. Though this later point was often spoken about in terms of "Westbrook not passing," but a decent portion of that was on KD, imo.

Also just as an aside I think the word "cluth" is silly. All a player can do is get into the best position possible to make a shot. Sometimes they go in. Sometimes they don't. If a player gets an open look at the basket, that's pretty much all I ask for from a late game shot.

Wade was awful in the Chicago series.

But he gets a complete pass for playoff struggles lol.

And what Lebron did in both season just to get to the Finals is infinitely more than anything KD has done to this point. KD will have his moments, no doubt, he's an amazing player. But other than a really small sample size of games this season, he has done nothing to warrant saying he's more clutch than Lebron.

KD has more clutch gene, but that's not saying much.

KD. LBJ's last-second shooting is probably the weakest part of his game, IMO

And yet throughout their careers LBJ has a better late game shooting percentage than Durant.

Of course LBJ is further along in his career. So Durant may be better one day, but there's nothing to suggest he's better right now, unless you think anything can be taken from 40 minutes of late game statistics this season. That's basically a 1 game sample.

If I had to choose who I want taking the last shot in a game, I would definitely take Durant. Because for some reason a lot of coaches and players in the NBA seem to think the best option for a last-second shot is to dribble the clock out and take a contested long jumper.

Have you watched Lebron and KD both in the clutch?

For all his woes, Lebron has so many big shots in big spots. Last year Boston, Chicago. 2009 Orlando. A couple against the Wizards. 2006 against Detroit.

What are KD's?

Lebron has more big shots than KD, ten fold. Love em, hate em, doesn't matter.

I get why they do it, but it goes get annoying, yea.

But why would you want Durant in an Iso and not Lebron? Lebron is more unstoppable, and will almost always draw more attention, and is a better passer when drawing double and triple teams. And over his career, in that spot, is better than Durant, by the way.

+1 but you'll never change the haters mentality about him, no matter what the stats show.

James has so many more, i mean wayyyyyyy more clutch playoff moments.

It's not even close.

What do you base that on?
