The list of boxers suffering from pugilistic dementia as they age is staggeringly long. One of the worst cases is Wilfred Benitez who won a world title against Antonio Cervantes at age 17 in 1976 after he started his pro career at age 15. By 1989, just 12 years later and not yet 30, it was clear he was suffering from degenerative brain disease and has only gotten worse since then. He's now 66 and is just a shell of what he once was, needing 24/7 care by his family members.

Notice the heydays of boxing were when people didn’t live as long in general, when, when that happened to people, it mirrored what “normal” people that age were going through as well with their own health problems

He seems like a level headed guy. He’s got enough money to never work again and he and his kids would be set for life.

ETA: He would also get plenty of opportunities from media and maybe some coaching gigs.

Tua isn't even good. My only request is please no guardian cap in a real game. I will never recover from that gay shite

Football is a tough brutal game and if that’s ever changed, it will ruin the sport.

But we’re not spectators at the damn Roman Colosseum here.

It’s not melodrama about someone getting hurt, it’s concern where someone who’s gotten hurt one specific way a whole bunch of times ought to be considering his options. Not the NFL, him.

Tua should watch the interview with John Mackey and his wife.
Mackey was tougher than hell and smart. He was the NFL player president for a while. His wife, an attractive, intelligent woman, was answering questions about his condition, while Mackey, like a little kid, kept interrupting to ask, "Are we going to go ride in the car?"

It has changed and you’re confusing people being generally concerned for a kid who’s hurt, which has always been the case btw, with the messaging being put out by ESPN and the other day time soap Sports networks.

I agree with you 100% there, but that’s not what your original post conveyed to me.

No worries mate, listening to ESPN radio today you could’ve sworn it was the Kennedy assassination instead of a football player getting hurt. Thats what I’m talking about, the over dramatization every time we see something like this happen.

I am positive that the Dolphins had an insurance clause in the contract that if it were to be a concussion that ended his career or any injury that ended his career at that amount of money they pay off the insurance claim

at a lot less full contract value

I have heard him say he hasn’t spent a nickel of his contract money since entering the league. Has been living off his endorsement $$$.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of it goes to set up his family(the whole big arse family) for the next couple, idk, centuries? That’s one massive, very close family.

It’s a figure of speech pal. The sports media and nfl treat quarterback concussions like some sort of national tragedy. They make it seem like nfl players are being taken advantage of. No one wants people to get hurt but it’s part of the game. Get over it or get out.
