BREAKING: Judge Charlotte Sweeney of the U.S. District Court of Colorado has granted a class-wide preliminary injunction that requires the NCAA to declare eligible *all* HS class of 2022 athletes who exhausted four seasons of eligibility this spring.

Surely that won't cause massive roster upheaval at the last minute...

Why?
And how does one district court judge get to decide the fate of every hs athlete?

Because it is no longer an academic system.
It is a business.
Why can you tell a business how long they can hire an individual for?
/sarcasm, but not really

Was there some sort of existing court case in Colorado or did this judge just randomly feel like she needed some attention?

looks like this suit, started it off, and she ruled.

The lawsuit, filed July 11, 2026, by 11 Division I athletes including Cade Tyson (Minnesota) and Brock Wisne (Northern Colorado), alleged the NCAA was arbitrarily excluding these athletes from the same benefits — including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) opportunities — as others who received an extra year

Shocked it’s another short haired liberal judge

I don't think this ruling covers 30 year old pro basketball players from Belarus...

Should have gotten it from the get go. That class was “penalized” when compared with others. In a crazy world we are in, they should have been included

Yeah by not grandfathering in that class the NCAA was just begging to get slapped down in court.

Only the beginning. Wait until a billionaire or a huge corporation buys a college football team. It’s coming. Just imagine instead of the LSU Tigers or the Ohio State Buckeyes it’s the Microsoft Tigers or the Pat Macafee Buckeyes. I know it sounds crazy but it’s very possible
