I heard today that it was. I didn’t know that was allowed, but apparently so.

Nope. Copied from another thread.
quote:
The policy says "athletics boosters are prohibited from creating or facilitating NIL compensation opportunities" for prospective players as a "recruiting inducement," and it also says boosters are prohibited from being involved in NIL deals with current players "as an inducement to remain enrolled." Athletics boosters are defined within the policy as "a person or entity that has participated in or has been a member of an organization promoting a postsecondary education institution's athletic program."

They already do this though, so its not like its going to stop.

There’s no real way to differentiate that though. It will absolutely happen. Just under the premise of whatever is legal. Moronic

I can hear Saban and Kirby laughing across two state lines. What a joke!

And we know this will stop it in its track.

Unofficially no, realistically yes.
The Louisiana law actually stops boosters from paying with or through the school for inducement only. Meaning a third party can pay them as long as the school isn't involved. My reading, iirc.
The NCAA rules (compensation) are of no real value at this point.

Not directly, but it will happen via 3rd parties 100%

Double post 10min apart. Impressive!

And it already does. But now a player won’t be forced to sit out or a team won’t have to vacate wins because a kid sold his jersey.

Yes.
More importantly, you better line up payments for you existing players. They aren’t going to play for free to be nice.

If you seriously believe this, I have some beachfront property in Kabul to sell yah.
This will be wild.

This will be a total shite show. No way to regulate or manage the millions that are about to start flowing. There will be court cases for years ruling on what was ‘ok’ and ‘not ok’. College programs can now do what they’ve already been doing out in the open and on a larger scale, while elite programs will really get to flex. We’re way beyond slippery slopes now.
