THey have a thin bench and that is the issue. It shows how important Iggy is to this team and largely as the veteran leader and defensive presence.

Again, the guy won the Finals MVP for a reason and is underrated as shite because the other 3 are scorers and Draymond doesn’t shut his mouth.

They’re the best team of this era. This era that’s full of a bunch of beta superstars.

Not just the best basketball team but best sports team ever according to one thread. I’ll hold off bumping it until they actually lose the series

Give me the 86 Celtics or 87 Lakers.

Curry is softer than Charmin.

What a poser basketball generation.

They don't like to get nitty-gritty. Everything has to be handed to them on a silver platter or All-Star team.

Don't want to get touched, long range bombs. Scared of a little contact. Shite, Laimbeer would have Curry in the hospital eating his puddin'.

They’re great but thus far they’ve won 2 titles in 3 years, not exactly unprecedented this generations rush to declare every great player and team as THE GOAT is tiresome, you need the perspective of Time

that has to be a joke

I agree Igudoula is very underrated and a good player; however, don’t bring in his lame MVP award. Everyone knows the bull shite that was that series.

The Warriors are great, but their legacy might be just a team of frontrunners, if they lose this series.

They played like arse down the stretch of the last two games and I don't believe they get enough grief for blowing a 3-1 Finals lead as a 73-win team. All-time greats don't do that IMO.

2018 GS clearly isn't GOAT.

2017 or 2016 could very easily be GOAT.

Are you sure the issue isn't Klay being hurt, Iggy being very hurt, Steph being hurt, and KD being a massive bitch?

Do you not realize we have all watched these games?

Hand checking is a myth and your coveted rough players were bigger bitches than guys now.

The overall level of basketball being played today is higher than it was in 1996 because the talent pool is larger and deeper now. Plus, teams understand better the mathematical advantage/value of shooting more threes so the skills being put on the court are different. The enforcement of rules have also changed the game as well but damn that 95-96 Bulls team was indeed amazing.

It's undeniable that humanity gets better at most measurable aspects of athletics so why is it so difficult to believe that they also get better at basketball?

Sure, Jordan's measurables would still be top tier today. He's arguably the best player ever but the key difference is that back then he was so much more of an anomaly athletically speaking where as today most teams have multiple guys that are freaks.

Houston is a great team that is specifically designed to beat the Warriors. The Warriors are designed to beat everyone at almost every aspect of the game so they can exploit any weaknesses or mismatches you have.

Think about how the Warriors were still awesome without KD and when they were without Curry. Surely that Bulls team would skip a beat if they didn't have Pippen? Plus, there were no players like KD back then, and who could run and pass yet still shoot as well as the Warriors do? Is Longley going to close out as GSW swings the ball around to the open shooter?

I'm honestly not convinced that Kerr or Longley would see any playing time on this Warriors team. I'm not sure what to think about how Harper and Rodman would fare.

you are obviously correct. but this is the MSB where idiots spew bullshite about things they really have no clue about.

they just repeat what they hear on ESPN. "MJ or Lebron who is better" "are the warriors the best of all time" "are the cowboys americas team" "is tom brady or peyton manning the goat"

most people on this board are too lazy to actually watch sports, so they just pick a side of these arguments and draw a hard line on it and only cherrypick things to enforce that opinion rather than trying to grow their understanding

I agree with most of your post, but I don't like comps across eras like this. It assumes all things are equal.

Like you said, the sport has changed. In that context, I wouldn't assume a younger Longley or Kerr couldn't develop their play to the modern game, just as I wouldn't assume an older Green or Thompson would totally dominate the NBA of 20 years ago.
