5'7 140 can work for a Frosh. If you are athletic

Depends, and WR usually is a bit taller and more athletic if they are playing at such a young age. A FR WR might be on average 5-10 and 150-60, but a CB might be 5-6 to 5-8 140-50. That is for a school with consistent state level talent though.

Maintain a height of 5-8 or below, maintain a weight above 250 lbs.. If you're European thats like 114 kg.

And btw, I've seen kids who were seniors who were 5'6 get offered by LSU at RB (admittedly, I only know of one haha) so it's definitely about how you play.

West Monroe's WRs as freshman are consistently 5'6"-9" and 120-150. I think they're pretty consistent on the state level.

25% difference of body weight as a 14 year old is huge.

I walked in day 1 at 116. Last day freshman year at 148. Casey Sanders is a legend.

I coach at a 6A school and we'll have starting Ss around 6'1 180 and CBs around 5'9 170. WR run anywhere from 6'4 170 to 5'7 140. A lot depends on the size of the school though.

I started at linebacker my freshman year at 6' 140 pounds. I also played a little wide receiver at the same size, but didn't start there until my junior year when I was 6'2 185

Exactly. Most freshman are 140-150 by the end of the season.

What class school? A little guy can play in lower classes (unless they go against Curtis or Evangel) in most cases. I've seen plenty of 5[7"-5'10 150-180 lb Freshmen at the schools I'm closest to, both 5A.

I was a damn rail, 6'-0 probably 130, started at CB/WR, by senior year I was 6'-0 200 and playing safety.

These people saying 180 as a freshmen must be talking about OL/DL.

When I was a kid, the Advocate would list starting line-ups for all of the area high schools in this huge pre-season preview. My friend who played 5A football as a receiver said it best. "All the coaches get blackout drunk and make up weights for all of their guys."

Same here in Georgia. Our running back was 5'5'' 145 and was listed in the newspapers as 5'10'' 180

But to answer op's question, size doesn't really matter in high school. It's more about ability, attitude, technique, and knowledge of the game at that level.

I'm having an argument with a friend who is saying how a freshman should be like 5'10 180 and I call bullshite

A 5-10 180 freshman is going to be wrecking it at linebacker on the 9th grade team. There aren't many QB's at that level who can consistently complete a pass anyway. If you stop the run in freshman ball, you win.
