I don't believe Lafayette, the city itself is 70% conservative. All the conservatives are moving to the burbs. The city is purple and well on its way to blue. Sad to see.

I was at all of the Cajun games this weekend. Their head coach was the “staffer” who was antagonizing the crowd and had to be restrained. She bitched about every call all weekend, received a warning from the umps on Sunday before the fracas, and talked shite to the fans during both Cajun games. I hope we host a regional and they send them here, makes for a lively atmosphere, lol.

My biggest issue is that it is a terribly ineffective method of protest. Nobody even knows what they specifically are objecting. We can only assume that they are unpatriotic and don’t respect our nation nor the soldiers who have served and fought to protect it. With all of the avenues they have through social media, why don’t they speak out that way so we know exactly why they’re angry. Can’t they just stand there during the anthem and be respectful. I know many people who aren’t religious who don’t feel the need to protest during opening invocations at some sporting events.

They do it specifically to get a reaction and they got one. And as usual, when they get the expected reaction they claim to be victims of verbal harassment. But no one still knows what they’re protesting. We were referred to as “toothless hicks” on their message board and I’m sure they view all of our state as uneducated, ignorant, racists. Funny thing is with a little research it’s easy to find out that African Americans only make up 4% of their student body compared to 22% of Louisiana-Lafayettes. And 85% of African American students who were accepted during their last admission period chose not to attend Berkeley because they don’t view it as being accepting of African American students.
