So let me ask the Pelicans fans here...

Would you want Demps to sign Chris Paul if he wanted to play for the Pelicans but would only accept the max?

Or would you say no thanks
yes bc he'd take Boogie's money... He'd be a better version of Rondo

Are we playing 2K with the salary cap turned off in this scenario?

I for one would love to see Lebron and Paul George team up in LA. the west playoffs next year would be great. We could have 3 series as good as that CC GSW one was.

BREAKING: According to sources, immediately following the Clippers-Rockets altercation in January, Deandre Jordan expressed frustration and desire to play in Houston to multiple players on the team bus. He's stated intent throughout the year.

Come on home D. Clint go head and get paid you deserve it.

I honestly think they'd have been better with Lou Williams and Patrick Beverly. Younger and cheaper.

Probably not. They need that additional playmaker. Playmaking is the most valuable skill in the nba. Although I expect pat to come back to CC at some point. He is one of us.

That doesn’t make sense.

It’s not the amount of money that’s the issue, it’s the years.

no team that could sign CP3 is giving him longer than 3 years so that's a moot point. Teams that could and would give him max years are teams he wouldn't sign with bc CP is almost a vet ring chaser

Signing for the max implies max years. Would you want the Pels to sign CP3 for the max?

I'd rather pay CP3 the max, than Cousins

Anyone thinking the Lakers wouldn’t be immediate contenders with Lebron and PG are delusional

They would be the third best team in the west immediately. Maybe third best team in the whole nba. Competing w healthy Boston. It sure would be nice to have somebody, anybody, that could force CC or GSW past a game 5.

Rumor: Tension between Chris Paul and Rockets over contract

quote:

Chris Paul sacrificed $10,083,055 last season by opting in to facilitate a trade to the Rockets rather than opting out and signing somewhere for a max salary.

He expects to be made whole. And by most accounts, Houston understands the arrangement.

But here’s a rumor otherwise.

quote:

Chris Broussard:

quote:

From what I’m told, there is tension now between Houston and Chris Paul. Because there was definitely some type of handshake, wink wink, “we’re going to max you out” last summer. But here’s the thing: Now, they’re not so sure. Houston, with good reason, doesn’t want to do that. But they’ve got an out, because they have new ownership. So, Daryl Morey can go to Chris Paul and be like, “I want to do it, but we’ve got the new owner doesn’t want to give you five years, four years.”

quote:

Paul’s max projects to be about $205 million over five years. Already 33, he almost certainly won’t produce enough on the court to justify that amount. Players that age just decline and face greater injury risk.

But the downside of not paying him that much could be losing him. Even playing hardball could offend him given the circumstances that brought him to Houston. The Rockets are contending. A bad contract a few years down the road would be worth it if they win a title, and Paul is instrumental to that push.

This could be a delicate situation, and Morey can probe at least a little if he chooses. Would Paul be understanding of the ownership change? What options will Paul have better than a large, but sub-max, contract from the Rockets? Would Paul take a discount if Houston got his friend LeBron James?

But push too hard, and would Paul bolt to play with LeBron on the Lakers?

Only all-pro wide receivers and douche bags refer to themselves in the third person.

Hard for me to say yea but that’s a lot of money for an aging guard who has health issues.

Think you have to either convince him to take less or move on to another option.

And Sam Amick tweeted today:

As for Chris Paul, two sources refute notion that there’s tension between the two sides. Full expectation in Rockets circles that he remains

I do not trust Chris Broussard when it comes to NBA rumors and sources.

I don't understand why you keep talking about his contract like you think it is something to shite-talk about.

Rockets fans wanted him back and are more than happy with getting him for 4 more years.
