He should be fired for way more reasons than just that 1. Same with Romeo.

He is in the best possible position for a mediocre coach. The team is having ownership issues now that McNair has died and O'Brien is the de facto GM.

They only scored one more TD after that.

The Texans scored 31 points. That would have been enough against basically any other team in the playoffs. I'm not going to be angry when a team loses to a better team and scores 30+ in the NFL.

Who gives a F when the points are scored they all count the same

Context is key here tho. They had a 24-0 lead and literally shite the bed in a way I haven't seen in quite some time. Like they dominated for about 3 minutes to take that 21-0 lead then completely fell off the earth

Yeah, the defense isn’t very good, and hasn’t really been for a few years.

Can’t generate enough pass rush and have a bunch of pretty ok secondary players.

He coaches in the NFC South, a weak division where 10-6 is enough to win the division.

As bad as the NFC East is this year, it’s not consistently bad every year like the NFC South.

The 24-0 lead was built on a lot of flukes. TBH, I still thought the Chiefs had about a 25% chance of winning the game when it was 24-0.

True, but a 4th and 4 call at your own 30 is an abysmal call.

As a Watson fan, I have followed enough of the Texans to know that this team is built on smoke and mirrors and Watson's ability to improvise.

Watch the first 7 games of 2017 where OBrien and Savage were teamed up while Watson sat on the bench... the Texans are a mediocre 4-12 team without Watson creating something from nothing.

Outside of Deshaun Watson, if you lined up the Texans player personnel 2-25, they probably have the 20th best roster. One super star at WR, a nice DT, oft-injured star DE, okay LB play, terrible secondary, meh OL with an inconsistent high ceiling LT.

I hope Watson goes somewhere else in free agency in a couple years. I don't see that roster being good enough to compete with the best 4 teams in the league anytime soon with all of the picks they have traded away the next two years.

And the fact that Watson is pretty damn inconsistent himself. He looks great a week or two, then throws the ball into the turf the next game. It's mind numbing

I think he is trending upward on consistency, but he does have some inconsistent games. He was still 7th in the NFL in QBR this season, despite having 3 or 4 dud games. Part of it is the offensive game planning, but some of it is on him.

not according to the analytics people lol

Let’s be honest... no one in recent memory would have walked out of Arrowhead with a W the way KC played

No, Chiefs are by far a superior team. He should be fired because he didn't have a play for 4th and 1 he liked.

you can look at that call both ways. The avalanche was already coming and he could feel it. That would have changed the momentum. And the element of surprise in that moment was pretty big. The Chiefs just made the play.
